Lancer cedia with a evo 8 transplant .. Now that would be a killer .. Or the next choice would be a D16 or a B18 on a 1.3 Honda City .. Indian builds would be a turboed VTEC or a baleno or swift ..

The moment someone drives it out of the showroom, price depreciates 1 lakh. Factor that into your calculations in arriving at a model year Cedia to buy.

How much would an evo8 transplant cost in a Lancer Cedia?
What exactly is involved - engine change?

What are these D16/D18s.... engines? (forgive the ignorance, I'm a newbie here). What are the costs we are looking at? What about D16/B18 on a Honda Vtech?

Why is everyone suggesting the old VTECH here ... something not right about the current City VTEC?

Request more information on what you mean by Indian builds.

a evo 8 transplant is a evo8 engine complete with all wheel drive.

the d16 d18 are civic engines.
the ohc and difference between the nhc is power the ohc is 106bhp and nhc is 100 bhp an old honda city looks good compared with nhc.

did you consider the zen with a new heart like a d16 engine plant make a drag strip monster.

b18c1 would be an amazing engine to put in the city.(might be a tight squeeze) i have no idea where you can get one, besides importing.

city with b18c1
turbocharged
spray
no ac, power steering or back seats
etc

= a good dragmobile

If your budget is about 15 lakhs, then a Cedia with an Evo transplant makes sense. Lower end would be a Lancer with an Evo transplant.

What about Chevy SRV guys. Saw one today on road. Looks are amazing.
Buy one second hand if you can find. I dont think it has good resale. Hood is also good for engine modification.
I feel in love with this car today. She is on top of my list whenever i plan to buy a new car.

Slow as a hippo in cuffs. Gearshift is about as smooth as sitting on a hippo, too. Stock Baleno, maybe even Esteem, will leave it for dead.

Simply ask for the Old Honda City VTEC model. Manufactured years were 2001-2003.

Yes you can get a good condition OHC VTEC, yes spares are very easily available & quite reasonable (cost wise to source) and it is very very reliable while it is stock or with basic mods. Rest the reliability depends upon how seriously you mod her, if you go too advanced then obviously no mech in a small town or in the middle of no where will be able to understand it.

Yup, it's slow & highly over priced. Not worth it at all.
