Rear wheel drive honda CRV

hi
friend of mine has 2005 honda CRv ..thats come with real time 4wd
he want to know that removing front axels can make CRV only rear wheel drive or not?

Whats the reason for him wanting to do so.. If there are any sensors on the axle and tyres the ABS and Traction control ( if available ) will have..
And ppl die to have 4wd.. Please let the drivetrain be as it is....

The CR-V has always been an AWD since it's launch in India. Except that the AWD system activates only when the car senses loss of traction on the front tyres.

Just removing the front axles will not do the job. You have the also lock the front diff and also lock the viscous coupling (somehow)

After you manage to do this some thing to keep in mind.
The rear axle to start with is not designed to take 100% torque which means it might snap if you launch it really hard and 2ndly not designed for full time operation (low duty cycle since its part time 4wd) which means it will wear out quickly. Have you seen the rear halfshafts, skinnly as hell. Good Luck though.
