HI GTO,
How is the K&N holding up.Read through your posts that you had to get the throttle body cleaned up.Any more instances of dirt getting inside the intake.

Holding up well, Sumeet. Yes, the throttle body acted funny once and the Honda service station put the blame on the K&N (I don't doubt it). No issues thereafter.

Are you sure it was the throttle body? Most probably it was the IACV as that's the part which usually requires cleaning more frequently than the TB.

With a heavy heart (I mean, REAL heavy), I have to update this thread : The Vtec is SOLD. It's really going to be tough parting with her....almost like breaking up with a girl. The Vtec will remain as a very important part of the automotive chapter of my life. So many memories!

Background for those who joined in late : I intended to retain the Vtec for atleast another 3 - 5 years, she is serving me that well. ZERO breakdowns since day one, revv-happy crisp engine, great looks and stellar reliability. However, at the time of researching for this thread, I got tempted with an upgrade.

Here's to the upcoming Civic then!

The V6 what? Accord? That automatic piece of you-know-what? A manual costing 1/3rd of that will be more fun.

Not even started searching. To be honest, I was sitting on the fence with whether to sell her or retain her. Would be happy with either situation.

Start looking for Civics soon. But yes, I am VERY tempted with the prospects of an Accord V6.

Gee thanks for making me feel good

I think the 3 - 4 lakh premium for a good Civic is well worth it too. For that money, I'm getting a larger car, with more safety equipment, a bigger engine, rear disc and better highway manners. And the Civic is as mod-friendly as the Vtec, if not more.

The one thing that the Civic will lack : The raw feeling of high-revving an OHC Vtec. She's more like a high-powered go kart and will be sorely missed.

@GTO, that was a surprise since you maintained the VTEC so well :-) And it was completely trouble free as well. Hey, I (like most others) liked you keep your car for more than 5 years thread so much, that this is a bit unexpected (I am driving a Apr '03 Lancer).

Hope you got a good price for the car, and hope you find a great Civic or Accord !

BTW, I hope that you have some Civic rear suspension mod planned ;-)

The R18 is nowhere near the D when it comes to aftermarket mods or options, you can't even have something as simple as headers. It's a dream as far as bolt-on exterior stuff goes since we have the JDM version, but I assume you mean performance mods.
