Just checked Pete's website and apparently the tuning box for the Swift D is out and available. Does anyone know what it costs? And more importantly, would it void the warranty from MUL? I really wouldn't want to risk that at all. Also, is it advisable to run a few kms before installing the box and if so, what is the range at which it can be installed.

Cheers all!
Kartik

The cost will be around 32 - 38K and yes it voids warranty but you can remove the box when you take your car to MUL service center.

That was fast.. Any idea of the power gains??

Godfather

Stage 1 should take it from 75bhp to 90bhp and the torque from 190nm to 215nm if I remember correctly .. Just wish my aunt would buy one for her car rl: ..

Didnt Pete reduce his prices very recently? I think I remember seeing an annoucement somewhere (mag or his website) where the prices were around 20K.

No the prices are down for only the Hyundai Accent, Elantra and the C200/220 and E220/270 Mercs. The Swift box costs 29. If you need further info please feel free to PM.

75 to 90bhp and 190 to 215nm is right. Those figures certainly sound good. Its only the price thats a bit of a problem at this stage. I would really really like to get the box, maybe I'll defer the investment by a few months.

Hi, if Pete's box increases power/torque why manufactureres don't build it themselves? Are there any disadvantages?

It's interesting to take a look at the dyno sheet with and without the box:

Reading in KW & NM

Power is up all through the revv range.

Edit: cartech, you'll find the answer to your question in This thread.

Is the power rated in KW, 'cause it's surely not in BHP.

Looks like 1500 rpm is the ideal launch point and 4250 rpm is the ideal shift point. Nice graph.

Apologies for my ignorance, can somebody explain whats the Petes Tuning box and whats the difference?(I presume its a brand and will increase the torque, but how?)

Hi all,
I am relocating to India this month from USA.
I am planning to buy a swift VDI with ABS. Have anyone tried pete's with swift yet. Please share your experience. You may PM me too.

And is their any news if Maruti is coming up with a swift diesel model equiv to ZXI. I am feeling a little scared to buy a car without airbag.

@ v1p3r or any one else who's seen the graph in the 1 st page of this thread,
I like launching at 1800 and upshifting at 3000(swift VDI stock). wouldnt that give the best acceleration? FE be damned:)

(note- I still get 19kmpl on the highways)
