One of my friends is seriously planning an engine swap. He has a scorpio engine and also a contessa. But i dont think that engine can be fitted into a contessa.

Will that huge engine even fit in the engine bay? Have you already considered the dimensions of the engine and those that are available in the Contis engine bay?

Come to think of it, the modified car should look interesting with an engine popping out of a cut bonnet.

I think the Contennas hood is huge enough to take a V8 so a Scoprio engine wont be a problem.

Which engine is it the Rev116 or the diesel unit?

Gearbox will snap. I suggest you use the Scorpio box as well.

The Vauxhall Victor which is our Contessa used to have a V8 option too. If it can take a big-block V8 I think it will take the Scorpios's 4-pot.

I remember Psycho telling that the conti's weakest link is the differential.
Now, maybe even that will need to go.

I don't think lateral space in the Conti's engine bay is an issue here. What I'm trying to figure is, will the height of the Scorpio engine be an impediment to successful bonnet shutting.
