Re: My Remapped Toyota Innova Crysta 2.8L | 216 BHP & 514 Nm

An absolutely stunning mod, Sir. Have sat in the Innova a couple of times and felt at ease over long drives. Wish Toyota can implement some of your mod ideas and bring them to the Indian consumer.

Re: My Remapped Toyota Innova Crysta 2.8L | 216 BHP & 514 Nm

Not surprised looking at the queries for brakes.

Before buying Crysta i knew I have to modify brakes & suspension for my driving styles. The reason we bought crysta 2.8 is because of its Engine/ Space/ Resale value/ Looks/ Auto gearbox/ Reliable etc..

Initially there was no confidence braking at high speeds (Read - above 120kmph / Spirited drives). After the below mods it's much much better.

Replaced OEM pads with Supreme brake pads from Engineering Exponent located in Whitefield, Bangalore.
Contact Jayanth - 98863 96664
I was told Supreme brake pads can withstand temperatures up to 1250 degrees while OEM will hardly withstand around 500 degrees.
The bedding-in period for these pads is 150kms. After installing these brakes were spongy and not confidence inspiring but once the bedding-in period was over the brakes were super sharp. For this to work well, pads need to be warmed up initially.

Supreme brake pads

Before these pads gets banned, Bought a couple of them to stock it.
Cost for a pair is Rs 3000 from Engineering Exponent.

Re: My Remapped Toyota Innova Crysta 2.8L | 216 BHP & 514 Nm

Wow! This is a cool Innova, never seen one like this. Over 200BHP and 500NM is just astonishing. Sadly the 2.8 is gone and India will have to settle for the 150BHP 2.4 litre car.
This is a certain sleeper and you will be able to enjoy a big, bulky rocket with your entire family.
Conrgats!

Re: My Remapped Toyota Innova Crysta 2.8L | 216 BHP & 514 Nm

This is really awesome. Just yesterday I started toying with the idea of remapping and modding my 9 year old diesel Elantra instead of selling it off. I had sold my remapped Linea T Jet (incidentally by ToT)and bought this Elantra when my daughter was born because I wanted something soft, reliable and comfortable for the family. And boy, has she performed that role well. Now I am thinking of buying another car but dont want to sell this off (even my daughter is attached to it )

So your blog could not have been better timed. Keenly watching out for updates to your blog.

Congratulations! You sir, have created a proper sleeper there. Those are some serious figures for an Innova.

This thread reminded me of the famous Farmtruck features on the Discovery reality series Street Outlawz, which is a 1970's Chevy truck, tuned to the gills, to much so that it posts sub 10-second quarter miles and smokes Lambo's for breakfast!

Huge congratulations. As an owner of a 2016 2.8 Crysta G, I can tell you the thing is bombproof. I rarely drive above 100kph and I can do that all day without fatigue in this car. In stock form, it is indeed Dr Jekyll and you have the alter ego

Wow. 200+ bhp on an Innova is spectacular.

I drive a 2.8 too, and not once did it occur that it needed more. Was quite a brute for me in its stock version itself.

That’s some super cool mods you’ve done.

Re: My Remapped Toyota Innova Crysta 2.8L | 216 BHP & 514 Nm

Wow! You've made your sober van into a quick sprinter. Amazing mods and I've been hearing a lot of good stuff about Wolf moto. 8 secs for innova is quite fast. Also how's the fuel economy holding (just curious though because the 2.8 is known to be a gas guzzler)

Two questions though:

1.Do you need to use any specific grade oil after the remap and are the brake pads and filters universal for all cars?
2. Did Michelin start selling tyres again in India? Because when I had gone for my tyre swap, Yokohama was the only viable option due to the tyre import ban.

I'm thinking of going for the plunge by remapping my EcoSport and adding a BMC filter.

That's a really nice sleeper you've got there. You could probably leave a lot of people scratching their heads when you take off at the signals.

You made me remember my Boosted Elantra done in 2008.

Its reliable, fast with remap and mile muncher. Don't do all the mods done there it was a mad project.

Guess my turbo polo 1.6 tdi has spoilt me.

Not tested using tank to tank method but it can go quite low if you have a heavy foot.

Congratulations on the mod. 216HP and 514Nm of torque are very impressive.
I am sure you will enjoy the rides in your powerful Innova!

I have also been thinking of tuning my Audi q5 (2.0TFSI) for some time.
WOuld you mind passing details of ToT/Wolf who do these mods? I am based out of Bangalore.
Thanks!

You can contact Jayanth - 98863 96664 from engineering exponent(wolf). It hardly takes 1/2 hr to remap.

Re: My Remapped Toyota Innova Crysta 2.8L | 216 BHP & 514 Nm

Congratulations on the new ride and mods. However much I like high revving petrols like the n53 in the e60 and even the 1.8tsi in my passat, there is something about the pulling power of a high performance diesel that brings me back. I did the 2.0 dci in an t31 xtrail and then came back to diesels with the x3. They are so much more relaxed cruisers at highway speeds and the economy benefits are always 👌

200 bhp and 500 plus NM of torque is very impressive from the crysta. Plus the added reliability of Toyota. Must pull like a locomotive in gear.

Btw your power figures are very close to my n57d30 in my x3. Was considering a tune but backed of due to reliability concerns. 560nm is fine for now I guess.

Happy motoring and many pushed back into seat miles

Main reason why I bought a diesel.

If my requirement was not a 7 seater I would have bought a BMW X3 3.0 diesel and remapped it. It's got good GC, good side profile tyres, x-drive and more than enough power for our indian road conditions.
