I'm assuming that you're not speaking from personal experience here.

How come you speak so authoritatively about issues, then?

This is a little off topic and I don't know how many of you would believe it.

I witnessed something out of ordinary when I was returning to Bangalore from Chennai yesterday evening. There is a ghat section between Krishnagiri and Hosur on GQ. This section has a steep slope, so fully loaded slow moving trucks often block the road and yesterday was no different. There were 6 vehicles(BMW, Verna, Octavia, Innova, Safari and my Coroola) stranded behind two trucks. As the trucks gave way, all vehicles started to sqeeze through and I gave way as soon as I saw a BMW. He zipped past all vehicles with full blast; it was a 3 series 320D. Then suddenly a black Safari started to accelerate and within few seconds he actually overtook the BMW. The poor BMW couldn't reclaim its position until both vehicles disappeared from my view.

I believe that the stock Safari is not capable of beating a BMW.

I believe you are correct but 320s are not that fast. It would not take much tweaking to get a safari past a 320.
