Its the same engine which is available on the 1.8 which is bored out to 2.0L in America with 120bhp or so. Yeah, the 1.6L is just for the third world countries and rumour has it, that GM have stopped production of the 1.8L

Quoting the owner from other forum

With the new setup and tune I ran against my friends 2005 Altima 3.5 (same motor as the G35)........ I pulled about 1 car on him from a roll.

Also found a BMW 540i ......... stayed even with him from a roll

Also a MazdaSpeed3 with CAI ..... he pulled away slowly from me (about 2-3 cars from 60 - 160)

This is just the beginning

Infractions: 0/1 (10)

I am beginning to wonder that the stock 1.8L block can handle 7PSI. All of the above mentioned parts will put one back by about 1.5L plus install charges. Expect a bill of close to 2L.

Then you can bore out the block to 2L, see if you can source forged components and go higher on the boost. Rudy, you must try this. If you are unhappy you can just give your Turbo Kit and I shall be only glad to plonk it into my car .

A stock RS costs - 15L OTR
A 1.8LT Optra costs - 12L OTR

2 Lacs on Turbo and you get a car faster then a RS, cheaper to maintain then a RS, and cheaper then a RS.

@ Mclaren - how much does forged compos cost?

Yeah, but will it be as reliable as the RS when used as a daily driver? That is the real question.

That depends on how much boost you are running, the big problem with the RS is it is badly cramped, my leg touches the steering wheel, my head touches the roof and the rear bench is a completely no-no. Skoda tried to sought these issues with the New Octavia but very convienently named it the Laura in India

Since a RS is a German car its parts are quite expensive, the first remap from Petes to take it 200bhp costs around 50k, but the 2nd to take it to 235bhp needs changes of many things and costs a whooping 3Lacs or so. And a used 1.8 Optra is cheaper then a RS anyday
