Actually its blue color now, the car was done by A.R & tuned by Zakie but i think they were running out of time to tune it & they managed to get hold of new set of RC injectors just prior to speedrun, it was running extremely rich & smoking but it still managed to clock an amazing 13.8 E.T in trial run, but in final run the car ran in to some problem, a bad launch & misfire in higher rpm she did 15.xx something.

200bhp with Turbo in Indian OHC Vtec is very much possible the key is
1) Good combination of parts
2) Fully build Block
3) Sizing right turbo for that engine.
4) Tuning

Madhu's car should be putting out about 135bhp NA + 75shot of nos means 210bhp. Car did a 14.4 in bangalore. Jitu's b16 puts out close to 170+50 shot nos. Thats how I got to the theory that OHC can handle 200 bhp.
BTW who's Madhu?
One should know that B16 stock power is 170@crank to the wheels it comes down to 145-150 & 50 or 75 Shot of nos will not give 50 or 75 @ wheels.

Jitu, thanks for confirming about the OHC handling 200bhp part. Like you mentioned all the points play a vital role.

Btw, Madhu is the green Vtec from bangalore running NOS. I think he won the FI 1600 Class.

My bad, yes I forgot that 170 is at the crank. And yes, 50 shot of NOS isn't the same.

Jiggy, I am sorry that I had to waste 20mins of your precious time. You are right, we are not worth replying to. Sorry again.

Ricky, your best choice would be a OHC 1.5Exi. Ease of a TC install unlike Vtec, you can port/polish, headers, FFE, air filter, standalone, get aftermarket throttle body, forged internals, not sure if cams are available for the Non-Vtec. Aftermarket parts are available in plenty. It can take 200 bhp easily.

Cedia will work out really expensive. Almost into the RS price range with TC.

Update: Hit 180 kph tonight in my cedia on the hyderabad highway. That came in pretty quick time and that too at just 4200 rpm. The mitsu india website states top speed of the car as 180 and I'm 100% sure now that its way way under stated. If i had more road sans speed breakers and stupid trucks, I'd have surely passed the double ton. It was still accelerating when I hit the brakes and there was quite a bit of juice still left in the car! With a turbo, this car is gonna need a new speedo :-P.

The Cedia (Century Diamond) is from the EVO platform. VII-VIII series, to be precise. Although it was on the Jap Lancer tag. Needless to say, it's in a different league.

Try DSM. For proper mods.

And yes, working on the Cedia would prove to be expensive. Like the vRS. BUT, in the end, it'll be worth it. Just like the EVO.

And again...it's easy to fly figures. Achieving them is just THAT much more difficult...S.R 07' should be proof enough...

Thanks everyone for posting useful information. Seems like the vote goes for the CEDIA....B U T the cost of doing it up also needs consideration. The OHC 1.5 on the other hand seems capable of reaching / attaining reasonable performance my only hitch (correct me if I am wrong) is that it is a very light car & feels "not grounded" - maybe stiffer shockers (KONI) would be the answer .......

Thanks all & Cheers

At 200 hp OHC will be on the limit while Cedia will just start becoming fun. Which do you prefer?

Any MIVEC's available ??? Have been thinking that even that may be a great option - though I am a little weary of transplants. The only saving grace is no need to change the car or buy another.....anything can happen like I said I am going to explore ALL options before taking the plunge.....I am told maintaining the MIVEC is not too much of a pain....any ideas guys

Ricky_63, get in touch with sideways. He has done the MIVEC transplant successfully. Any queries regarding the MIVEC will be put to rest once you speak to him.

He has also TC'd his stock lancer but then finally I think due to reliability issues went for the MIVEC. He says thats better than a turbocharger when the MIVEC kicks in.

have a looksy at his gallery.

As discussed earlier if you want real serious power than go for engine swap.
Pm sideways for more details about mivec swap.

Thanks Vid & Mugen

Have tried fishing for MIVEC........no luck so far. I think it is an option all right - may also look at a RS & think of performance upgrades. It's a wide open field with ALL options being considered.

Thanks guys

Id suggest you go in for a OHC honda for TCing , also Go in for Koni shocks and just for safety get in a roll cage and Sports seats to complete the package, even without the swap as already mentioned in this thread ur car shoudl be approx 200 bhp. But please get bigger brakes as well. RS is hevy on amintainance.
