Yes sir! The car is definitely fast. The remaps are so much smoother and powerful than the tuning boxes. Remaps have been available even for the diesel cars since day one. Also did a Laura recently who upgraded from a tuning box to a remap which was tremendous improvement again. The only reason diesel remaps arent that popular is because of the price in comparison with the tuning box. As ricky said the remaps are 10k more expensive than the tuning boxes.

Custom Code UK

Hi

This is NOT a box. This is basically re-writing the software on the ECU / ECM. It is quite awesome - the whole thing takes just 15 minutes but a fair bit of greenbacks But the performance makes you forget the lightness of the wallet pretty soon.

I have used the option of 1.9 TDi 90 BHP from Custom Code. Hope that helps.

Cheers

Hi

The remap has been available & was not / is not very popular because of the cost + warranty issues. My car is just over 2 years old so warranty is not an issue anymore.

Have not checked the 0-100 figures - have been too busy enjoying the improved power surge from an already great machine As for pics, my car is totally stock other than alloys, so pics won't do anything maybe I'll post them sometime in a few days.

Cheers

I agree 100% with you. Ricky, here is a nice review put up by RTech himself on some mod which he carried out: Pete's tuning box

Better than 0-100(which varies from driver to driver) do this
1. Take her to 40kmph, engage 5th gear and floor it and time to 100. 40-100 5th gear
2. 20-80 third gear
3. 40-100 4th gear

If before timings were also available, it would really help on understanding real world implications of such a remap.

Great thing. Never knew about re-mapping the ECU for power boost. Good info. Sad to know no remapping possibilities for others cars except Skoda and Audi

However, I have query, can this remapping be un-done?

There are loads of tuners in Bangy who do remaps for smaller engined cars right? And by smaller engined cars do you mean the 800cc alto/800 types too? You WILL lose warranty no doubt.

And about warranty issues with Skoda, if done (atleast at Mahavir Motors in Hyd), the car does not lose its warranty if a pete's tuning box is installed.

No, there aren't. There's no one, in fact. Only Race Dynamics does standalones for cars.

Hi

Remaps are available for the entire HYUNDAI diesel range in Delhi. I have read the advt in AUTOCAR sometime back & spoke to the gentleman as well.

Re-mapping can be undone i.e one can go back to stock ECU settings - but then you loose the money you spent on Re-mapping in the first place.

Cheers
