Remapped Skoda Octavia 1.9TDi

Hey Guys

My Octavia 1.9 TDi has gotten itself a BOOST in performance. She was a marathon runner but has now become a sprinter. Her training took under 15 minutes (must say she is a quick learner)

Well well - I just got her remapped - & does she R O C K !!!!!! The throttle response has improved dramatically. The RPM needles happily jumps to 5000, the torque has gone insane (in a positive sense) She can spin wheels even on 2nd gear shift - not to talk of the wheelspinning capability in 1st...........

Still need to run her some more to really gauge the improvements beyond the obvious. Right now she did 14.5 kmpl, 16.1 kmpl......so need to drive some more & figure out the real differences. All in all a great performance enhancement - well worth it - a well spent 15 mintues on a Sunday - (or is it too early to say )

Will be updating as and when things happen - maybe 16 or 17 inch wheels. Who knows..........

Cheers

The remap is from CUSTOM CODE U.K. The power gain is about 25-30 bhp. The price difference between Pete's Tuning Box & the remap is about 10k (not sure) It is available for other diesels as well. PM Autopsyche for details - that is where mine was done.

Cheers

25-30 bhp gain is impressive. Which of these boxes do you have:

Remapping is an option that has been available for all the Skoda cars from day one. Petes has been providing as an option too.

Is ready remapping possible for smaller engined cars? Any details on who does them in South India? Will it void warranty?

As psycho said remaps were available from day one. Pete's box was an option as most people still wanted to retain the warranty.. Remaps would immd. kill the warranty of the car as any tom dick and harry at the service centre can tell the difference in performance. Also the box can be transferred from one car to another. So if you plan the sell the car then one can sell the box or gift it to a friend who own's a 1.9TD.
The difference in performance between remaps and box is about 10 to 15%, the earlier having better performance.

Have had the privilege of driving a TDi that was approaching 150 bhp, and it was a real hoot. The Dunlop SP9000s couldn't keep up with the torque, and it was a nightmare on wet roads. Still a hoot.
