Dagnabit, now I'm going to want to paint my car this colour (or lack thereof) all over again. I'd finally gotten rid of my fixation for chrome paint. Gordy, didja really have to?!

Since I no longer have a car or bike, I shall paint my body in that manner.

The painjobs on those sites are a lot shinier than this one. The finiah on the SL is more dull which IMO looks a lot better.

In the above Merc there is no paint, the body is polished so much that the metal is made smooth and it looks like it is painted..

but the link you pasted is also true but not like the above case...the link which you showed is the one we have on logos and othere shiny places...

You guys remind me of these old WWII Land Rover taxis we have in Darjeeling that have somewhat similar "paint jobs" - basically no paint, just shiny aluminium. It looks one helluva lot of macho, particularly on an old Land Rover. Is there anyone here who has seen them? Regret I don't have the picture

The colour on the M5 is completely different & is called Shadow Chrome. Evidently it is only done by one man at M-Power (he's the only expert!) & takes him an awful lot of time to do it.
