Dashboard Illumination

I have an indica DLE 2001 model. 123000 kms. The dash illumination has faded and needs to be replaced. I was thinking of putting in LEDs instead of the original bulbs. Any suggestions?? or past experiences ??

replacing the instrument panel would mean spending more than 2k (i ask for the alto instrument panel and the price given was 1.5k ion chor bazzar)

anyway try this open the intrument panel and take the bulb out and remove the cover over it

see if this helps

i have already tried doing this. it took me almost half an hour, trying to open the instrument pannel. but to my surprise, there were no LED's!! there is a big chip, on to which the small lights, like the one which illuminate the key pads in a mobile, were embeded... couldnt do anything about it, so i just painted them blue with a marker! and it looks pretty good actually.
