But few irritants:-

-The baby cry horns. I mean they are cruel.
-Some young cheap boys, blasting the ICE to full volume ( esp full bass) with songs they wont know a thing about.
-In the North-West UP area (kanpur-agra etc) the side view mirrors of bikes folded backwards to look like a Namaskar.
-Again some young boys (I am damn sure without license) driving super fast with continuous horn without any reason. Like the VIP siren!

These are not exactly the modifications/accessories but originating from that.
Haven't you heard the Reverse alarm humming 'Hat Jaa Tau Paache Ne'?, it sounds so funny. Regarding Side-View mirrors, I think the drivers use them for seeing their own face. I've seen the same with Rickshaw Walas here in New Delhi.

1. Any kind of reverse horn, specially in the dead of the night with people still sporting the L Bagde and taking forever to park.

2. Hi Bass music systems.

3. Unnecessary revving at the traffic signals, as if you are on a race track.

i just can't stop laughing

Chrome surrounds on tail lamps,

Reverse horn/sound

Idiot lights for parking(which keep on flashing)

Reebok/adidas/nike logo on no. plates or on mud-flaps, too irritating, are you guys paid for it?

Those auto-graphic stickers in which a lion/pup/broken glass is shown.

This is not exactly an accessory, but I've seen people, especially cabbies, connect the stop light wire to the reverse lamp. This ensures if you are stuck in traffic behind them, you're in for a blinding time. Then we also have those blinking hazard lights connected to the brakes. I really can't get the intent behind these.

A few years back, you could hear jarring music whenever brakes are applied, this with the case with bikers and auto-rickshaws, but thankfully that looks passè now.

Some of the irritating absurd accesories i have seen are-
-Some people use stainless steel number plates on their cars instead of white background and when you use high beam on them the light gets reflected to you.
-White reflecting strips of tapes used in the rear glass to look like defogger.
-weird 4X4 stickers on maruti 800 or other small cars
-cheap bling bling chrome accesories.(Non Standardized)
-aftermarket side indicator that gets onto the side mirrors.(Cheap ones)

People seriously do that? I'm astonished.

They might as well draw in a rear wiper with a felt tip!

Some of the accessories on my hate list

1) Weird reverse horns. Recently heard one saying "Aye peeche hat" and keeps repeating till the gear is changed.
2) All kinds of voodoo stuff like black dolls, hair etc adorning eitherat the rear or the front bumper.
3) Stickers like the heart bleeding, dog under the rug etc.
4) Under body lighting, LED lighting on front/rear lamps. Ugggh

  1. Sunfilm on Driver side window having a capsule shaped cut allowing the driver to see the rear view mirror! (Looks yuck, put a lighter sun film dude!)
  2. Huge stickers on the rear glass obstructing rear view visibility
  3. folded ovrm (not exactly fits this criteria, but irritates me, why not remove it if you don't see sense in using it!)
  4. "Horn please" stickers on the rear bumpers (who needs to be told to horn in India!!)

Yesterday i saw a blue 800 with black colored stickers made to resemble a defogger

1) Flashing reverse & brake lights on cabbies
2) Family names on windshield (infact i hate any kind of stickers except tbhp on a car)
3) Blue tubelights under the chassis
4) False colorful antennas
5) BMW style false antennas (saw around 5 in a row on a swift)
6) Reverse music specially on Hyundai santros (no offence to anyone but heard them most on these cars )

1. Reverse horns
2. Flashing brake lights on cabs. All the three lights would be flashing while braking and the indicators never work for indication
3. Neon lights under chassis
4. Stickers about the castes. Does cars have it?

One of the most irritating accessory I have seen is the rear number plate with the political party symbol. It puts me off since it feels someone is trying to be smart by showing that he has political contacts.

OT: Well, in chennai if you see a White Sumo (old model) it would surely have either MK or Jaya's picture infront. The most disturbing fact is that, the traffic police salute to these vehicles even if it is empty.

Last evening I saw an i10 with Crash guard, it looked sooo funny!

The most irritating car accessories, I have seen:
1. Black coloured thread tied to the front grill, that is supposed to save the car from evil eyes.
2. Reverse horn, spoiling tranquility of the area and others' sleep especially at midnight.
3. Religious graffiti using sandalwood paste all over the car/windshield
4. Baby's footwear hanging at the rear, especially in Bangalore auto-rickshaws

A couple of more irritants seen quite often in vehicle:

1) Rear wind shield completely covered with religious figures photos. I am sure the driver would not have even an inch of rear visibility.

2) Sun blinds on the side windows even in the night. Maybe they are used for some other reasons best known to the owner.
