I am seeing a few brand new mitsu pajeros here in chennai with dual tones. Red & white looks very hot, IMO.

Make that 99.5%. I dont think anyone really knows these numerals except for a few people who have had to study them. I know this for a fact in TN. No one was taught the tamil numerals in school, so i presume it is the same in karnataka.

A lot of people get those made in places like Russell market in B'lore.
My cousin saw a Cielo with a sticker 'University of Alabama' stuck on the back windshield. He was an alumni of the Univ, and thought he'd say hello to the person driving it. Turns out, the owner stuck it to give people the impression that he studied in the US !!

He ought to have stuck this on his car--- ..

A few acquaintances have these stickers on their cars, but they are genuinely students/alumni of the Univ.

My take:
1. Stuff hanging from the RVM - especially a dummy dog which makes a sound everytime the car goes into a pothole.
2. US University names and "MYSTERY SPOT" stuck at the back.
3. those small tweeters stuck in the front near the windshield, sometimes hanging by the wire only - and owners pride showing how much of a chilling effect it has.
4. People who fold mirrors saying they are expensive if they get hit.
5. Stickers like POLITE written in red (especially bullets)
6. Stickers with Ad's - now even helmets have a few hundred ads on them.

How about those stupid EAN barcodes on the number plate???
What exactly is the point of that?

Did he buy his car from a supermarket and did they beep it, so he could pay for it with his card?

@chilling

And I am sure it's been discussed before, but those godawful stickers, with a ball or some crap coming out of a broken windshield. I feel like really breaking the windshield when I see that.

Good thread, I get irritated with most of the things that have been listed on this thread.. And yes, a bold ARMY written on civilian vehicles.. I don't know why people get it done.. I mean what's the point.. Do they think that driving an AMRY car will make them more of an Indian.. or is it that they want to take some advantages that ARMY/defense vehicles get..

What about fake sun roofs?? I mean COME ON!!!!

I've seen small M800s and zens with a plastic flap on top of their roof, and it's lifted up and stuck on. With glue.

Seriously?

Seriously?

That is the weirdest thing I ever heard.

Apart from selling fake fire extinguishers, which wasn't weird, it was an evil criminal con.

Transport vehicles proudly playing some loud a$$ distorting speakers with a lot of pride something like Pio TS20s (most of which is fake). It literally pierces into my brain! UGH!!

I feel this is a valid and genuine reason. Maybe, we can have a poll here (if one doesnt exist already) to find out how many of us really have the left and right RVMs flung open all the time . To admit, I open them only when I hit the highways, never ever in the city.

Having said that, it is a difference experience for me in the US for the last one year where I use both the mirrors in addition to the ORVM. Keeping them open has its own benefits esp when parking parallel to another car in a parking lot in addition to the other benefits on the road. The best part is, I cannot fold the RVMs on my car even if I wanted to as they are fixed and built that way. I dont bother as it is not India.

This reminds me of those days when the Maruti 1000 and Esteem co-existed and people sticking the 'Esteem' moniker on the rear of the M1000 to make others believe it was an Esteem ! Clever indeed eh ?

My List...

1. Reverse Horn - Any kind, I just hate them
2. Loud musical horns
3. Silly musical sounds associated with bike brakes
4. Stickers on the rear window proclaiming Dad's gift, Mom's gift, God's gift...
