dont you mean oversteer? RWDs with lots of torque oversteer in corners if one stomps the pedal. did happen quite a few times in our 138D.

it has synchromesh on all 4 gears IIRC. thats why changing gears was easier.

i am not much into tuning but i think the car needs to be tuned properly - i think its running rich - also check if the engine oil / radiator water has any "soapy" thingy - if yes - then i guess the head gasket needs to be changed - also get the brakes checked - see if any one of the brakes are fouling with the drums - you dont wanna put load on the engine.

i think it will be better if Mr. Dhabhar pin-points the problem.

i believe the BEST fit for padmini would be an esteem engine, parts are available in plenty and its easy to repair ( the carb one of course ).

If u MUST do it, then look for the 137D engine. I used to hear a lot about jaya diesel engines in padminis in the 90s. What happened to them??

Put a gypsy engine in the fiat with a gypsy gearbox. Convert it to Floor Shift. If you have an S1 even better. Less cutting to do.

2) Premier Rio 1.5/1.3
3) Maruti Ertiga 1.3
