As per my painter Standox is much superior to Dupont ....He recommends that now..But the difference in cost is a lot more ,especially that im on a budget..Is it worth that extra or i should i stick to dupont??

why don't you go in for matt black. Something like the one on Abix's swift done by Aarush.

Personally I'm not a fan of matte black cars... for me, black on a car needs to be shiny
But, correct me if I am wrong... won't maintaining matte black be even tougher than maintaining shiny black?
Also, do keep in mind that given its larger size, a Lancer is tougher to maintain (colour-wise) than a Swift.

Do keep in mind that changing your color is gonna affect re-sale .

lancer maniac i would suggest you to go for dupont, coz the cost increase in standox is quite a handful unless you are doing up a showcar or one thats not driven much. You can attain 95% same gloss with dupont on a properly done paintjob as you would in the case of standox. plus touch-ups will be much cheaper later on as well. And yeah steer clear from matt black because it is the toughest color to maintain.

@faithless_1984: i know dude! we share similar tastes in automotive paint, and also the choice of the automobile!!
the matte black looks great... but it's not my style

@lancer_maniac: looks like you're all set. make sure the initial bodywork is good, as imperfections in the body tend to stand out more after a good paintjob. most paint shops will have shade cards from various companies... ask them for the Skoda one, or look at their other options (you may like something else too). if possible, narrow the choice down to 3 and have them prepare samples of these. choose the one you like best amongst these. have fun!
