High lift cam after porting

Hey guys,
Need some opinions from you guys. Sometime back, I wanted to get porting and polishing done for my Corsa. My tuner refused to do it and advised me not to get it done cause it would bring down the compression . That sounded quite crazy. But anyways, I went ahead and got it done through another friend of mine who's also a tuner. Ported and polished the head, valve grinding job, inlet porting and polishing etc. After all this, we checked the compression. It was running at around 205 (previously around 160-165). Now I'm getting a 280* high-lift cam. But once again, my previous tuner ( cause only he has cams for the Corsa) says there's no point in putting the cam cause it won't perform because I've done porting and polishing job. And he tells me I made a mistake by doing it against his advise. Personally, I feel the car performs much better after the porting job and I love it. even my friend 9whod did my porting job) feels there's no reason it shouldn't perform.

What do you guys think?

Wouldn't be fair to both of them.

Hi,

I see no reason why your car would not perform. BTW who was your past tuner and who is your present one. I am intrigued by your remark ( cause only he has cams for the Corsa).

Anyways just make sure you have a adjustable cam wheel made so that you can set the Cam timing perfectly.

Can't give no names guys. Both are good friends. The first guy is still a good friend (although won't be taking my car to him for any further jobs). If anyone wants to know the name, ask Viper, he knows.

Cam is coming down this month end. It'll go in with the standalone ecu.
