Lol.well lets see the prices for cat back exhausts and headers abroad are very tempting.and i'm currently going through some forums abroad where they have actually turboed the civic R18 using the TSI kit and are discussing the problems like tuning of the ECU there.
By the way people there are claiming a 235 Whp on the turboed civic running at 10 psi or something.feels tempting but they have killer brains there working on the tuning part unlike here in india.

I think the Indians are the ones with the killer brains. We pay twice as much for petrol and cars, and have the worst roads, yet somehow we've managed to develop what is probably the world's cheapest commercial standalone ECU.

yep but we still haven't seen it on a civic yet.also its not that user friendly till now is it?
It'll still be a big problem installing it here.The day it becomes user friendly like a power commander with a wideband O2 sensor.that day will be the new dawn of tuning.

hope to see more of this ECU.Its been quite some time since we have sen a new install of this ECU.whats the latest developments.any civic turbo project in the pipeline?

Unfortunately no else wants to do the hardwork. As I see it, pretty much most of the development work, followed by a lot of the installations on cars, and until recently, almost all the tuning, was done by a single person in his early 20s.

I didn't quite get what you meant by it not being user-friendly.

What i mean by being non user friendly is exactly what you said.That the installation,tuning and all is done by the developer himself.

I wish it became a userfriendly component like the power commander.it as a plug and play harness.connects to the USB of the laptop.has a dedicated software in which you can change the fuel delivery amount at every 500 rpm and at every 5% throttle.
Its like a tabular form.The ignition map is like wise.
Also one can connect the wide band sensor and get a similar map.see where the AF ratio is not near 13.5 and increase or decrease the fuel so that the AF ratio comes to the near 13.5 mark.pretty simple.
Also it would be great if a program is written in which the fuel mapping is automatically changed when the ECU senses a deviation in the AF ratio.An on the go thing.
Lets see how much of this materialises.

I think and hope there are quite a few developers who work on these lines so that we can have better ECU's as soon as possible.

As it is we have seen differences in just an ECU upgrade in quite a few indian cars.

the turbo which has been installed in cinclaturbo's civic is i believe the TSI turbo kit referred to by navpreet318. that kit comes with an AEM F/IC. that is the same kit which has been installed on 2-3 civics in US and is supposed to be able to put down 235-240.

on a side note can anyone tell me where i can get my hands on the TSI kit in India??

btw some more updates on my civic,

installed K&N Typhoon Intake and KONI sport rear. Have the front struts as well. but i would like to know how hard it is to install them as it is a strut insert and not a direct replacement like the rear.

AEM - Fuel / Ignition Controller (F/IC)*

the above link shows the A/F ratio controller which comes with the TSI kit. it is also available with a direct plugin harness for the R18 civic. and connects directly to a PC via USB for tuning.

CIV4647 well i'll just go through the AEM FIC link that you have given me.seems good enough.

also i haven't seen any engine trouble reported on the 8thcivic forum.and the kit seems reasonably priced too.
the only way you can import that kit cheap is that you ask someone there to buy it for you and send it to you undervalued by the regular US postal service.its safe as i have learned over the past years importing stuff for my bike worth a couple of thousand US quid.

Would like some feedback on the Koni. With just the rear installed, how is the experience? Has the GC issue been addressed to an extent and how is the ride quality?

Just went through it.also downloaded the installation and tuning instructions.pretty revealing.seems a pretty good piggyback.pretty much like the power commander in super bikes.

all we need is a good quality base map and a good wideband AFR reading device.lets see.

hope the dollar goes down in another 6 months or so.

Ok, I saw something very very interesting a couple of days ago, but it completely slipped my mind considering all the parties...etc..etc!

Pictured below is a Civic that is a Model after the one we have here in India as of now. I saw a White one WITH the the MUGEN Kit on it. I havent seen the Front, but i saw the back and that is when it hit me that it didnt bear the Tail lamps of the Indian Civic, but these more recent tail lamps. The car had a CC number plate which means it was some Consulate car. My Question: Which Consulate orders a Mugen Civic!! cheers:
