eclectix 1st, just a question, why don't you tell fiat to fit the leather steering which they used to offer in retro. Its a real nice piece of art.

I guess that should match, unless Fiat has done some major change.

I did speak to the fiat guy. He said the steering wheel design has been changed, which makes it impossible to put leather around the SW.
I'm yet to verify his claims with some professionals.
Bottom line- Fiat is not offering it anymore.

Hi,

I had a hub fabricated for my Palio in Chennai about 5 years back. The work was done by Indus Engineering (Ph: 044-22322497, Contact: Raju). These guys make Go karts and the workshop is in Guindy industrial estate. It costed me 2000 bucks for the hub and I fitted a MOMO Millenium steering wheel.

I hope some such workshops will be available in Bangalore too.

Thanks Shen
How does it feel? Tell us about your steering experience (any differences pre & post momo/hub)
Can you post some close up pictures of the SW & the hub if possible?

I had no problems. The movement is smoother than before after the hub and wheel install. And quite an eye catcher - everyone saw the car inquired about the wheel.

Sorry. I don't have any photos. Sold the Palio about two years back.

One of the installers mentioned to me,that a lancer hub with slight modifications may fit the palio.don't know how true that it,as I haven't tried it.

According to hellspawn's gallery, the MOMO steering hub (for an Alfa Romeo 156) fits the siena.
I guess it should fit the palio too.

PS: I know I'm digging up an old thread.

Excellent idea. I love the contours on these punto/linea steerings. But, two things:
1) Do the splines match? (most probably should)
2) Are they available for sale in the market (probably yes, but will need to order)
