I have seen one Maruti Esteem / 1000 Station Wagon in Juhu Galli. Will try to get some pics if possible.

I too prefer the Adventure and the altura over this!
infact the corsa swing looked better!

moreover, since both, the sedan and wagon have the same overall length, the space increment would not be as much as the baleno v/s altura, the altura gives you those few more essential inches of extra space, both have different rear bumpers (the altura's bumper is longer), unlike the esteem

Looks more like a modified FIAT UNO. WHy dont you get a Second hand UNO. I dont think you will have to pay much for it.

Also dont you think the rear has been cut a little bit. Doesnt the esteem have a slighlty longer part after the rear wheel. IN that case modifying might be ever more difficult since you might need to cut the chasis.

Talk to a coach builder and ask them. They would be able to advise you better (costs). There is nothing wrong in doing it and is not such a improbable task. You will get a unique car and your requirements might be met.

Does this really qualify as a Stationwagon? Its a regular 4 door Hatchback! A wagon would imply a much longer wheelbase.

Kirk, would still ask you to look for a orignal estate. Dont know how well will such a modification be integrated into the underlying structure of the car. And if the modification turns out bad, you will lose the current value of the car And what ever you are spending.

Like Shrivz said, the space increment will not be much. Also, have you checked if your cycle can fit into the space that will be available post modification, and with the rear door closed ?

Exactly. I too have the same query. This is more of a hatchback than a station wagon.

adventure looks more agressive and well in balance regarding looks.my advice would be to sell the esteem and put in the difference cash for the adventure.

i think you will not be satisfied in the end , your putting a lot of money and time in to it.. better sell the car and buy a altura or adventure.. thats my opinion.
