Thanks for the comment GTO, but is there any place where this is done professionally.I have known that rally cars use skid plates for protection.Check out this link

While I read this ground clearance issue in many threads and articles, I wonder, why the Car manufacturer, Honda, never bother about this. If they can't do anything, why do they sell it in the Indian road.
I believe We are all living in a world of compromises, which is the advantage they have. I really do not know how do they sell a Car in India (though it is a perfect car in many other was) which is not fit for Indian roads. Alas!

Rally cars (and offroaders) use skid / protection plates because of the unfamiliar terrain that they drive on. Rocks & stones are abundant where we take our 4x4s. However, for a road going car primarily driven on tarmac, I don't see any need of after-market skid plates.

We just installed a set of Coilovers on a Civic fitted with 22/45/17 tyres. The overall height of the car is actually slightly lower than the original, but the car does not bottom out or touch speed breakers any more. Handling has improved drastically as well.

Am giving below some pics of the same prior to the install.

Re: Increase ground clearance of Civic & improve mileage

Any advise on Punto GC improvment? Can we adapt the same technique of Civic? Now Fiat has offered better ground clearance by fixing made to order kit, but I wish I could make use of existing and the new one to make it look like a SUV. Is that possible or a crazy imagination?
