A friend has a MH-Regd MR2 but that is the older squarish shape 1989 model. That is in great shape. The chrome wheels on that are also , but otherwise it's in great shape, this is the T-top version

Cheers

I was going through the pics and it just occurred to me that the car would probably look better with the top in matt black instead of the glossy finish now. What say you?

The car's been with him for 6-8 months (not sure).

He is basically an SUV kind of guy, drives his BMW X5 / Porsche Cayanne / Prado normally.

This he just got more on impulse & less with the idea of really driving it often. But he has made the car far better than it was when he bought it.

Cheers

Help me find my MR2 Turbo!

Dear BHPians,

I should have never sold this car! It was a true labor of love. I bought my 1991 Toyota MR2 turbo from Madras in 2003. While mechanically sound, the car required work. Over the course of four years, I restored and upgraded the car.

A snapshot of the work:

1. Full repaint
2. Upgrade to 1994 MR2 rear lamps
3. Upgrade to 1994 MR2 front lip
4. Interior refresh with new steering wheel and shift knob
5. Engine refresh with all new hoses and gaskets
6. Turbo upgrade from CT27 ceramic turbo (japanese spec) to CT20B steel turbo (US spec). The steel turbos could handle slightly more boost, while the ceramic turbos spooled up faster, but wore out quickly.
7. ATS forged 17" wheels.
8. Front clear corners
9. Koni shock and spring kit
10. Custom exhaust and decade downpipe.
11. Manual boost controller.

I sold the car because I spent a long spell in the USA and my father didn't like a car at home that wasn't used. I sold it to a close friend, who in turn sold it to someone else and there ends the trail.

If anyone happens to know of a black, hardtop MR2, please post!

First Photo - The photo of how I got the car
Second Photo - After I was done with her
Third Photo - Bonus! With my good friend's Toyota Supra. The car is running a single turbo setup with about 550 WHP on race gas.

Re: Help me find my MR2 Turbo!

Very sweet looking MR2 Ajvee! The MR2 can easily be mistaken for a Ferrari 348/355 because of the pop-up lights and the side vents.

One way to track your car is to check the current ownership with the RTO or better still with your friend - who would have taken the details of the buyer when he sold the car.

Hope you find it!

Another option is to go through the Supercars section to see if it has been spotted somewhere. I really hope it has not ended up in the Imports gathering dust thread.

Re: Help me find my MR2 Turbo!

Buddy, your MR2 looks dead gorgeous! Sad that you had to part with it.

If you show the second picture to anyone, I'm sure that no one would call it a 1991 model car. Looks in pristine condition.

Hope you find her back in your garage soon.

Cheers

This is what i have thought to do, Can u suggest something more with some pics, but keep my budget in mind...Cheers to all
Do you still have that MR-2?
