This is the stuff of nightmares. Sorry abt that; the repair bill will most likely be a hefty % of the car's price. In which case, its better to have the insurance give a complete write-off of the car and buy a new one.

Rohit, looking at the corewood, that coconut tree does not look old enough to fall by itself.

What exactly happened?

Hey man, Sorry for your loss.

Anybody have any idea what the Swift's sheetmetal costs to repair?

And most of that car (engine, transmission, all mechanicals, electricals, upholstery. both right doors, rear hatch, bonnet, both bumpers -- inner and outer) other than the sheetmetal is safe and should be reusable anyway.

sorry about this tree crash but
think about it, you have the best excuse to make it a convertible.

and we promise not to post about it in the wacky threads section.

Oh that tree was old!!..was rotten..the indside of the trunk was hollow! it should've been cut down long time back.

Luckily no one got hurt, Mom and Sister were in the back seat.

Maruti says insurance will cover everything except windows and couple other small stuff. Should get it back in about 15 to 20 days. They say it'll look like new, hope it runs like that too!!

Forestry

Up here in the hills of Himachal Pradesh you would probably have been fined by the Forestry Division for impeding the lawful egress of their tree.

Tough Luck with the car but extremely good luck that noone was hurt.

Since there is no engine / mechanical damage, I think the car should be fine. But there is a chance of you actually looking too hard to find a fault with the car when it returns and hence get unusually perturbed by things that we normally would ignore. It will be all in the mind most of the time. Take care and all the besht
