4.5k for bonnet and the grill? You must be kidding. Maruti authorised body shop charged me 13k for a new bonnet and for painting, in 2002.

The HL assembly cost is correct. I bought the clear lens headlamps and indicator units for my esteem. This however does not include the levelling device on the HL assembly. IIRC i was told the levelling device alone costs another 3k.

Adi, you are yet to keep up your word on posting the pics. Guess its been more than 2-3 months now and you have one more reason to refrain from doing so.....I meant your son.. Jokes apart, with more and more people going in for the new HL assembly, am all the more tempted to follow suit.

Final Bill

So here it goes .. .. . .. .

Full Painting (Metallic Silky Silver) - 12000
Body Works - 3000
Hood - 4640
Front Grill - 1430
Front Bumper - 2153
H.L - 5280
Dicky Garnish - 1680
Tail Light - 1200
Reverse Light - 1000
Misc Parts[Lights,Bulbs etc] - 2700

TOTAL - 35000/-

PS: This was not undertaken at a hi-funda workshop. It was a worshop whose owner I knew closely and he has given me ample 'discounts' in painting and body works. Other prices are actual. And the painter was 'imported' from dubai. just kiddin .. the painter has in fact worked with toyota and other workshops in dubai for 15 yrs ... he has now moved to cochin and has done a wonderful job!!!
