1991 - Diesel 190 D Mercedes - Remap or Engine Swap ??

Hi Folks,

One friend of mine is looking for advice on her 1991 - 190 D Diesel Merc. Whether is wil be possible for an Engine remap for more power etc OR, can there is a possibility ot have engine swap to any new engine (like 2.5 lt diesel etc)

Pl advice and if this makes sense also let me know where it can be doen on what tentative cost.

its 1919 or 1991 .,, diffrence between heading and details, pls confirm, so ppl can help you

Nicejits it has to be 1991 where did ECU's came into picture in 1919? And if it is 1919 then its a rare vintage.

It would be possible for the engine to be turbochaged. MB had a turbo engine of the same capacity .

Remapping the engine wont be possible, however swapping it would be. I would suggest not to and keep the stock engine and get it overhauled at the most. Swapping a engine is not easy and requires expertise, you also need lots of patience to sought out small issues which crop up.
