Car steering spinning knob

Hi friends,

Any one has experience in putting this 'car steering spinning knob' in your car. Is it safe to put I also heard it can be dangerous at times. Please share your experience.

Is this that round thing that u attach onto the steering and turn the wheel holding it? If yes, then please refrain from using it, as it is highly dangerous and a pointless thing. A steering wheel itself is used to turn the car, and u want another wheel to turn the steering?? They are usually of cheap quality, and if it breaks off during a high speed turn, you are done for!!!

It may be helpful in case if the car doesn't have power steering but with PS, I do not see it any use of it. IMHO Complete waste of money.

PS-I have this in my car(The car has power steering) and I only use to park the car in tighter space but overall completely useless thing.

This is one accessory which featured most on the thread 'most useless or annoying accessories the most.'

I cannot find that thread now, though.

Its unsafe, not practical and should be banned.

It is meant for people with arthritis to turn wheel without gripping. Someone is exploiting our love for knobs and knobblies

I first saw that accessory in the hotel's Mercedes-Benz van, back in KL,MY which had the steering wheel like the omni here. A few years after that I saw one of the omni taxis using it here. Never saw it on any car.

Good only for parking turning assistance and not high speed.

Not worth it

In many places in N. America they are banned by law. They break, they come loose from the steering wheel, people get their hands caught on them in emergency maneuvers.

They are not necessary. I would not bother with one.

It's really useful if your car is a bathroom, and you have sink instead of the dashboard, and just need a place to hang your towel.

Also useful if you want to make your steering wheel future proof for grinding atta.

Otherwise, skip it.

Useful only if you drive a truck or some vehicle very heavy, which needs a lot of effort turning. If this for a car, then please stay away from it.
The only vehicles I've seen this accessory in are the dump-trucks & fill-dirt carriers.
