Hi vw19d,
I think it will definitely go with the Car. I've used it on my White Polo and it looks great! Im sure it will look good on your car colour too. Go for it.
Cheers,

Thanks for the suggestions Varun. Can you let me know where you got the filming done in Chennai? Any pointers of reliable vendors would definitely help me. And the price too?

No problem mate! I got the job done @ Shree Balaji Agencies. They're the authorized distributors for 3M in Chennai. I think they've recently moved their workshop to a new place. You can always Google up their phone number to find out their Present Address.
Cheers!
Varun

Re: Price for 3M sunfilm?

Query left on 3M site for the authorized dealer in Gurgaon has ultimately lead to Sixth Sense in Sushant Arcade Gurgaon.

For the price, the RE50 install you have done is only for the side windows ?
What about front and rear? And any idea how much it will cost for dzire ?

Side and rear. Should cost about the same for a dzire as the window area is the similar.

Thanks for inputs.

Have made up my mind to go for CR70 front and RE50 side and rear. But very very confused on how to go about it.

Would you remember whether RE was packed in a kit for sides & rear or did the dealer cut the required amount from a large roll (width looked suitable for filming windows of commercial buildings). Found both versions in gurgaon and cost is different (6.4k vs 4.5k). Interestingly, 'cut from a roll' guy was found via response from 3M on an online query and kit rate was quoted by Carplus (TVS group) who unfortunately had a defective pack and said he'll order a new one if I order.

More interesting are the quotes for CR 70 front film. The 3M dealer quoted 18k for front alone, then said price has recently come down to 10k. Carplus showed a box of CR 70 for front with MRP around 6.4k.

Front CS50 3500/-
He suggested not to go for RE70 for front as its reflective and instead go for CS50.
And installation would be done at home by 3M professionals.

This was in Sep 09. Will call him again this week for final price and installation.
would you have the 3m phone contact details with you by any chance. Thanks for helping.

Thanks Sidhu. I was however hoping to get a Delhi contact. I'll perhaps call up Bangalore and find that out. Thanks again for your help.

I swear I replied to this post but somehow I'm unable to see it. Anyway better late than never.

You get both types - kits and cut-from-roll. I don't know how the economics work.

Even when I placed an online inquiry with 3M I got the contact of a 3M distributor and distributors only keep rolls and not kits to the best of my knowledge. Kits are usually available only at car dealerships and some specialised accessories shops.

Coming to prices, CR70 (front) + RE35/50 (sides & back) for a C+-segment sedan should come to no more than 7k + 5.5k (non-negotiated typical street prices). 3M's quotes (and suggested dealer prices) are *much* higher and I can well imagine an isolated dealer enjoying a monopoly charging 3M's suggested price than a more competitive street price.

spadix

That high? I think for the Civic it should be 4.5k for the sides and 6k for the windscreen. Those were the quotes I got for my Accord a while ago.

Typical non-negotiated street prices would be there or thereabouts. I paid 11.2k in total for my Civic after a round of light negotiating. The initial quote was around 11.8 or 11.9k if I remember correctly.

A better negotiator could've gotten the same in the 10 to 10.5k range (C+).
