Re: PICS : Carbon fibre (vinyl sticker) bonnet for the Ford Figo and Wagon R

The Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera is the sole reason why I have fallen in love with carbon fibre treatment to different parts of a car. Since a long time I tried to source parts for my humble hatchback but the costing did not seem to be in accordance with my willingness to spend. Hence, did a few calls and ended up with the result as seen below. Mind you this is not a vinyl treatment. Will post the interior pics of the centre console later along with the cf spoiler that I will add soon.

You mean this is the real stuff, that is, real carbon fiber? Can you share the details please?

Really sorry for the extremely late reply but I always thought that I had updated this thread for some reason. This is a water based cubic printing technique. Actually a friend is in the coating industry and just for kicks I asked him to experiment carbon fibre printing on a few parts of my car and we were extremely satisfied with the result we achieved.

Unlike vinyl this is a permanent process i.e. once the part is dipped/ worked upon, it can only go back to a stock form if it is repainted.

To give you a glimpse of the entire process please check out this video I found on youtube.

Re: Carbon Fibre Sheets / Self Adhesive Sheets / Stickers

Guys I'm planning on putting the Indian tri-colour onto my family's Evoque. Just wanted to know if it looks good.
Edited the below image on MS paint to get a fair idea but I'm still undecided.
Please share your views.

Hey it really looks cool man!!! Do go for it, but make sure you get the right colors, and a bit more aligned with the lines of the body

That looks really nice! How much did it cost you for the exterior and interior changes?

Re: Pics: Carbon Fiber Seat - How it was handmade for FSAE
Hi,
I am in the process of starting a Cf and CFRP products and automotive parts manufacturing unit in gurgaon. We have been doing sampling for over 3 weeks now and have been doing it using different resin systems. The coming week we will be starting to make parts by Resin infusion. Till now we have used wet layup and Vacuum bagging. Our goal is to be up and running commercially by 25 th of September. As, of now anyone who is offering to make custom automotive parts in india are way too expensive as there is no one to regulate costs, no real competition. If anyone has questions get in touch with me. We will also be offering starter kits with guides. Also, we plan to release a self help video every fortnight for education. Guys please let me know if you have any suggestions or questions etc. I will post some pics of my Magnum which has some CF parts. We are also, in talks with a few major players of raw CF in India who weave. However, in India there are only 3 weaves available which are twill, plain and Satin and some so, we are also getting some other weaves from US which just look spectacular. Watch this space or if the moderators want to put this as a new thread please let me know. As we are starting up the first lot of parts will be on request.

Regards.

Hey Dee, I recently took help from Moodswings, Aka Preet Singh ji. He made two carbon fiber center console for my Merc Dashboard. He is very helpful person & would strongly recomend getting it done by him. Making something by yourself would not give you finishing. It would be better to get it made by an expert. You can send him an msg.

Cheers
Harneet
