Fiat Uno With a Siena / Siena Weekend 1.6 Engine

It was my dream to have a setup like this running by buying off an old Uno but it never materialized. Someone in Brazil went ahead and did it. And its not everyday that a legendary like Guy Croft appreciates your work.

Best times:
350meters in 13,7seconds at 148km/h, official, (12/06/05)
350meters in 13,2s, training (23/06/06)

Mind you guys, this isn't the Palio 1.6 engine that you get in India. This is the 1581 cc old shape Siena / Siena Weekend engine.

The old Siena also had a 1.6 engine. It was a 1580cc 100 bhp engine.

if I remember correctly the non-1.2 liter Uno was a little less than 780 kgs. The 1.6 will bring about some nice performance if plonked in the Uno.

Thought of this seriously some time back when I had the palio 1.6 and a uno diesel. But didnt have the ***** to go ahead and mess with both of my rides at the same time.

Awesome...

So.. someone finally did it...

It's a deadly combination....

A year back when mentioned in this forum, very few came up to support it.
http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/modifi...-fiat-uno.html

I'd say even with the JTD with VGT - (90bhp), it's gonna be amazing...

My friend had 195/60 R13 ventura's on his UNO D, and the tyres gave a stcok look, didn't buldge out from the trims. Awesome grip on the road at 130kmph...

UNO has a very comfy driving position, only thing which wasn't good were the brakes. But again they very the peculiar FIAT brakes .

Great to have some like minded people around...

Not to mention, If i'm not wrong the hyundai guy - BVR Subbu, is he building a car on the same UNO platform.

Cheers
Samy

Re: Fiat Uno With a Siena / Siena Weekend 1.6 Engine

Did someone (else) ever end up doing the 1.6 16v swap in the Uno?
