Hi All,

I have been considering modifying my beamer for quite some time.

Finally, a couple of months back I got a few accessories for it

1. Clear lens Projector Headlamps (Chrome) with Halos
2. Clear lens tailamps

It looks great, but I feel I need to upgrade a lot of other things too:
1. Upsize rims from Stock 15" to 17"
2. Upsize tyres from stock 195/65 to 235/45
3. Painting the front bumper/rear bumper to body color
4. Clear lens fog lamps

Please suggest some more mods.

Here is the a Pic from my phone cam and original car without new lights

Hi inder, apart from the list you mentioned, i dont think you need to do anything more to your car! Bodycolor bumpers definitely look good.

Instead of clear type fog lights you can go for the projector style fogs like in the white one.

Arush, the white beemer looks very nice.

White brings out the lines very clearly and with minimal mod's (simple) it can take the car from looking good to looking gorgeous.
Love those clear lens lamps.

Does anyone have a picture of the blue 3 series that belonged to the Narangs (often seen parked at Ambassador, Churchgate) till a couple of years ago. Its by far the most beautiful beemer i've seen in person.
A picure of that would be quite appropriate in this thread.
There was an almost identical one which belonged to the Narangs, or someone close to them and the car had a lip spoiler instead of the usual flared sporty ones.

I agree, its the most beautiful E36 I have seen in Bombay. Royal blue paint, M3 badges, but I think it had a double kind of spoiler. Spotted it multiple times below the Red bull office and opposite Lush in Pheonix mills along with the Lorinser kitted E class.

Inder - I've said this before & I'm saying it again, 235/45 R17 tyres for your 316 are going to be massive overkill. Unless you plan to do a engine swap or forced induction, I would not go for that size.

235/45? naaah, thats serious performance dropping tires for an 316i..... Ideal size would be 205/50/17, if you really really wanna go wider tires despite the drawback, stick to 225/45/17

Autopsyche,

That's the exact headlamps I have on it (refer Pic 1)

As my phone camera is sad , it's not clearly seen. Lemme try to get a decent picture.

Somethings I need to mentioned abt the car,

1. Paint in excellent condition .. (Some miute scratches but nothing that can't be taken out with polishing or touch up paint

2. Engine in very good condition .. Getting it serviced from BMW Service
Been to Coorg/Mysore and nearby places ...enjoyed the ride

3. On the inside of the door ... they have mentioned abt max upgradation of rims/tires and that's the reason I mentioned the 235/45 profile .

4. Got the suspension changed around 9 months back , excellent ride, parents didnt even know I was going at 160KMPH as they fell asleep due to smooth ride. Can't go any faster on Mysore road in daytime. Have

Thanks iraghava. I def respect your advice and will tread carefully.

I want the car to look as it is with some decent mods like the wheels a M3 lip spoiler for the boot , clear side markers and fog lamps ...

It is a beautiful car and the shine is as in pic 2 . Lemme try to get some good pics. Also , lemme get it at one of the TBHP meets so that you have a look and advice accordingly.

look for DADO and his yellow m3 it was an e36 widebody he did in the states and ran the gumball in europe too, this should give you some nice starters for the e36 widebody i have seen the car personally and one of the most tastefully done e36 widebodies i have seen

For the clearing the suspension and still full turning yes thats the maximum size you can opt for.... but, with the grossly underpowered 316i engine, those tires are overkill, if you had a 328ior an M3 i would have advised you to go right ahead!

@AMG-Europe - Those BMW's look awesome.

I like the wheels on the white beemer in the 2nd row of pics in your post (3 series (?) with star shaped 5 spoke alloys) and the gold rims.

@Inder - Try sourcing these desgins and your car will look hot. Ultra low profile however may not be practical owing to our road conditions.

Yes, thats cos' Rahul Narang would use the beemer till it was given the Red Bull treatment.
Very against this thread, but the wheels on that E are mouth watering.
