softening car suspension

hi friends i own a m800 and i find its susesion to hard . it is very bumpy. so i want to a mechanic . he told me that he can soft the suspension for about 500 . is it possible ? or he is just trying to make money . will this affect car handling. is softening the suspension a good decision?

Does your car have leaf springs at the back? If yes then softening means he will reset the leaves to give a less springy effect. I wouldn't advise that.

Better would be to keep the springs as it is if they're good and just add gas dampers at the rear end. You can use Zen's (old) gas dampers.

Check the front suspensions too.
