You are still using the 1.9TDI PD110 engine and not the 2.0 Common rail. The PD was sold as a PD150 in the Golf but it get super noisy at that power level.....and you want to add an exhaust to that??

Vrs also has a body kit that is missing on your car.

what remap have you used?
how did you lower the suspension 35mm without using external parts?
5.2 sec to 100kmph is hard to believe since the laura vrs tdi does it in 8.6?
is your car running some extra rocket boosters or something?
this is the first time im hearing of pp2s being noisy.

Even thats not possible... the RS does it in 8 odd seconds with 5bhp more and the Laura is heavier. For a 5 sec 0-100kph you need atleast 300-350 bhp for a car the weight of the Laura.

Hey Akshay1234,

the suspension has been imported from Skoda UK for my laura. Since the car is being retrofitted with the original parts, no external parts are used.

The laura VRS TDi does do 0-100 in 8.6 seconds with 17' wheels... with 15' wheels the time is reduced significantly. The turbo has also been given a 35 psi increase which increases the acceleration.(The Extra Turbo Boost is generated through VAS, which is in compliance with Skoda Auto)

The PP2s are noisy at higher speed due to the grain-tar roads in gujarat. If you were say on the Mumbai-Pune expressway, the tires should not be noisy. The noise starts at around 160KMPH.

I would be happy to answer any more questions you have.

0-100 in 5.2 secs is impossible with the power and torque figures he is telling ..... it should be around 9secs

how you have measured the 0-100 timing ?

The Turbo Boost has been increased through VAS by 35 PSI (Again in tolerence ranges, therefore no warranty issue), which adds to the acceleration.

The Suspension has been lightened by using VRS suspensions. Therefore the weight of the Laura has been significantly reduced.

No remaps.. Simple use of original Skoda software with support from Czech Republic and Germany..

Does it make sense to have MFD2/3 because it is mainly used for SatNav which I am not sure that useful in India.
I am using the MFD2... Price incl. of taxes and customs would be around 79,000. You have to get the bluetooth module for the MFD which is another 15000. The install is simple if you have the tools... Coding it is going to be a pain though.

You would need to use the Blaupunkt cds with Maps for India on it.

The system is not only satnav but also has DVD playback capacity.

Akshay1234,

Check the Skoda UK brochure: http://www.skoda.co.uk/pdf/brochure_octavia.pdf

You are right that Vrs does it in 8.6. However, here is the reason why the laura is a trite faster:

Boost Presure: Increased by 35 Psi. The Turbo also kicks in at a lower RPM
BHP: The vrs produces 170 bhp @ 4200 RPM, whereas the Laura is producing 155 bhp @ 1900 rpm.. More Power at Lower RPM = higher torque = faster acceleration.

I think you mentioned weight of the laura.. Well the difference in weight lies in the suspension... the suspension of the laura is heavier than the VRS, though the car is lighter, by fitting the laura suspension, the car actually is a trite lighter than the VRS.

Also, you need to remember that we are using different emmision norms than in the Uk and Europe (which helps).

I don't know where you cooked up those figures from, but I'm dying laughing . 35psi of boost omg... Did the F1 cars have so much in the turbo era?

well ive never heard of 35psi boost. how much boost does the stock laura give out? suppose the stock laura gives around 1 bar of boost your car has 50psi? dude youve gotta be kidding. that too with the stock turbo.

One more!!!

Akshat my friend, your figures are not true. Period.

I have been in the tuning scene long enough to tell you that the 5.2secs, 35psi boost, weight reduction with suspension change etc is all in all a nice little story that you made to entertain us all here however this forum isnt about it...so pls close the story book and start of fresh with a nice little introduction!
