Update: Initial samples are ready for dispatch. They are self-adhesive!

I could only make 3 sq. ft currently from the little adhesive I got from the supplier. So the samples dispatched will have to be small in size for this batch. In the second trial, the sample size will be much more substantial, enough for proper comparison testing after installation.

Couriers will be dispatched on Monday.

The following Tbhpians are already in the list for samples:
  • SRShrikanth
  • Flipsyde
  • Bass&Trouble
  • rider60
I need more volunteers. Around 8 more. So please PM me with your mailing address.

Pictures will be posted on the forum tomorrow.

p.s. Could not make this batch Fire Retardant due to lack of required chemicals. Will incorporate that in Batch #2.

Just went through the thread, and kudos to Abhi for the initiative. Wishing you will come out with something that is better than Dynamat, if not the Extreme!
good luck.

Important: I am sorry, because I should have mentioned this before but I guess I forgot in all the excitement..

At this stage, I need volunteers who have used some dampening system before, so they can compare and help me find out if my development works.

Once the functionality of the product is established, then all bhpians are welcome for prolonged testing trials.

Sorry, Forgot to mention this before.

The techie stuff

The functional part of product is a rubber sheet, 3 mm in thickness.

The rubber compound is butyl based and is specially designed for absorbing vibrations. It is also designed to be smell free and age well.

I have tried to keep the rubber's viscosity at an optimum, so its soft enough to reshape to panel curvatures, but stiff enough to cut out any spaces between metal and plastics, and eliminate sounds.

The hardness can be lowered or raised, based on your feedback.

Most importantly, thanks a lot everyone for all the support and interest shown.

Amit Bhai... Dont give me credit.... its not due yet

Let the material first pass all the tests of the TBhp critics

Of all reports turn out positive, I can produce the first batch in 7-10 days

Good stuff, can't wait to see the final product. Whenever you have something finalized, I'd love to test some out. This kind of innovation is very admirable.
