Exactly my thought. Keep it in its original shape - White with Black bumpers.

fog lamps on the top ? geez . That's got to be there only
for night safari . I dont want the car to lose it's identity
I'll say watch the market and if any better car comes I'll buy it .
Actually this car is good . I was very apprehensive before buying
it second hand . But , I really like the acceleration and wish to
keep it with me ( leaving the fact that I would never be able to sell it ) The car with the wooden outside bezel is really
kewl . But , which mechanic here will do such a kind of a mod job .
He ( the mech ) I think just frowns at me when I drive this car . I have major work to do with the front suspension . I think I'll stick with the same
colour or repaint it snow white . I just wanted a bit of change that's all.
Never again will I waste my money on brand new crappy cars .

The Xover pic I sent is a big car . Is that looking hideous in the blue
too ?

heres a suggestion ..
get the body work done may use some parts like headlights, taillights and grill and a nice dark paint. get some off road rims and tyres and look for sierra turbo's engine aka first gen safari engine. With some turbo mods it could be a geniune off roader.
just a thought.

In a remote corner of my mind the "blue" still lurks .

It is not that Iam depressed or something and in the blue . I am sending some pics of the blue colour that I exactly have in mind .

I just don't want this old car to suddenly go bananas. Thanks again and have a nice day.

Best Regards ,

Jeevan

PS : First three pics denote the present colour and state of the car .
The rest denote the expected make-over . I'd quit blue if that is going to be the final verdict .

Offroader

Please define "off-roader" !!!

In case you have misunderstood, we are talking about a Tata Estate (and not a Tata Sierra, which could be modded to become an off-roader)

.

i don't want to swap the engine . The engine is pretty fine
i was thinking about a simple electric supercharger that requires
the very least of mods .

In that case, pls meet Mr Nivit Bhasin, he can get you, the electric supercharges, or Surbo, Some Abc ignition or something, a Cheesegrater filter that is better than a K&N, and a loot of other stuff that are usually used on spaceshuttles.

Man, if you are serious about performance, get a good sierra turbo engine, or if you want looks alone, pla do a complete bodywork on the car, repaint it using good quality paint, and get a smart set of alloys. The estate is a really great looking car in its original form.
P.S: pls get rid of the silly hornm on the grille and put the logo back!

imho oppinion i think you should repaint it white and redo the whole suspension and bumpers give them a good black paint job get some nice chrome wheels with thick rubber.
Also if your willing then change the headlights ,also try going in for a new grille which is plain chrome mesh will look really sweet .
anyway enjoy modifying the car.

Cheers Trevor.

you can put some good set of wheels, have body coloured bumpers and have an enclosed roof tray / roof box whatever it is

i dont think any major mods are required to make this car look good or exclusive

you can focus on the ICE however and the interiors, sunroof

i would suggest that you keep the grills of the car black

My car now is at the mech shop . Work has begun with the suspension . I also hear a lot of negative feedback about electric superchargers . A decent turbo implant from a sierra or safari would cost around 25 K ?? Is that true ? I mean a sparingly used one or even a brand new one which
I must change at the 1 lakh km mark . A set of alloys again a 25 K ..
Thanks for reading . Thanks for all the input.

See, if they can increase the height by an inch or so. Should be possible with adding extra bush or something to the suspension system. TATA Estate has very low ground clearance and slight increase will really help you. That should not degrade the handling.

The engine has a tendency to get overheated in city driving and in hot summers. Keep an eye on temp gauage always.

If the engine is good, enjoy it without any engine mods for a while.

Tata Estate Mods with colors, I feel it is big no no. If you could have Tata Mobile then you could have modded it to feel like truck.

One of my friend had modded Tata Mobile with new Tyres, Alloy Wheel, AC, Red funky color etc etc.

IMHO Tata Estate looks cool in its original configuration with some small modifications.

By the way, I am not discouraging you but it is just my opinion.

Good Luck !
