Upgrade on my Esteem - Have some questions

Hey everyone...

Well I am finally on my way back to India after a good 5 years, I am considering some upgrades on my 2001 esteem and had the following questions.

1. I wanted to install 185/60/R14 or 185/55/R14 Eagle F1 GSD2's on 14inch rims.
2. Replacing my busted 4 channel amp, 12 inch subwoofer and the headunit.
3. Any options in the headlight department.? I talked to joe_mclaren about the clear lamps and how they were a direct fit. But would like to know if there were any other options for the headlights.
4. I'll be using some of my own skills to work on the exterior.

I havent been in touch with the current price range and would appreciate a approximate range of the upgrades mentioned above.

Here are some pics of the car, since then the rubber has been changed to eagle venturas. I have also attached a quick sketch I did for what I want to do for the exterior.

Thanks
JRD.

Hi JRD, you just want to upgrade the car or modify it . The last snap what you have uploaded tell, that you are looking more than an upgrade.

hey vinay.. i understand why you would think its a mod.
but as a designer I consider the changes to the exterior as depicted in the sketch to be upgrades just because of the fact that there is not going to be any change to the proportion of the vehicle itself (no metal work, increase or decrease in the major dimensions of the car).

just a few changes to the lower half to freshen up the dated looks of the esteem.

JRD you got a neat and decent ride there and to me esteem is a nice engine and with the planned upgrades(especially the sketch) i think you will be noticed. Added to those get a FFE and a CAI too, and i am sure it will rock. All the best!

@ VJ MAVRICK: thanks bro ...
ya i will definately add the exhaust and intake, but i wanted to get the stuff i mentioned in the post first as the ICE and lights etc will be used on a daily basis. And to fabricate the kit exactly like I sketched it out will be a handful with our talented labour
if you have any suggestions please feel free to comment..

Ps: Ive seen a turbo kit for the alto 1.1 . just so you know if you plan to!.

Brand new Clear lens headlamps (and front LHS/RHS indicators) cost around 6k. This does not include the levelling unit.

hmm, if you are planning to mod the exteriors to that i mean a really sexy looking one, why not put in the G16B engine too, the baleno's with a free flow and a Cold air intake air filter would be just awesome!

that way the car would be hot and fast. all the best with the upgrades.

JRD - a decent budget series HU with mp3/wma playback and USB/Ipod connectivity with 3 pre-outs will cost 5K in grey (eg- Pio 4050UB) and goes higher.

A decent budget series 4 ch amp is also similarly priced, eg - Kenwood 8401 is around 5K (+/-) in grey. So are some others too (JBL GT5-A604 - close to 5.5-6K)

A 12" sub in factory sealed box will cost you 6-8K (Blau Gtb1200 or JBL CSb120 etc) and you can get seperate 12" sub for 4-5-6Ks (eg- GZ titanium) and make woofer boxes for 1.5-2Ks. these are budget but SQ ones starting series. As you know, you can go any higher.
