Re: Cheaper options: Spare parts for the Baleno sedan

A post in the very first page of this thread mentions about the engine oil filler cap of some other model is an exact fit for baleno. Anyone knows which car is that?
I have been living with a partially broken cap.

Re: Cheaper options: Spare parts for the Baleno sedan

Have a question in case someone knows about this-

Is there an A/C filter for baleno?
Something under the glove box? I was looking if there is something like that which needs a cleaning, but could not locate.

You mean the washer tank?

You may be able to get the original part itself through MGP spare distributors. Can check the part# and pricing by posting your the query here:-

Re: Cheaper options: Spare parts for the Baleno sedan

I got a new A/C.

Not that I replaced the A/C, but did a cleaning job of the cooling coil.

Had a problem of water getting clogged inside the collection tray and then starts spilling on to the floor. At least about half litres of water gets collected when I drive for about 2 hours and had to drain it out manually by opening the tray lid. The issue was identified that the cooling coil was clogged/blocked and needed a cleaning. Had to open the dash and get the coil cleaned.

Man, the acclaimed super chilling baleno A/C is back and I repent of not doing this much earlier.

Congratulations. Can feel your happiness.

Get a cabin air filter for your Baleno. MASS can help you with this hit and trial as I'm not sure which size would go. Also try to keep the cowl clean, and your AC's ventilation mode in recirculation most of the time. That's how you can prevent evaporator from getting clogged.

Also whenever you wash your car, make sure the condenser is sprayed with low pressure water. Practices such as these will go a long way in keeping your AC in good shape.

Shashi

Thanks for the tips. Will take care of all those.

Cabin filter - I understand Baleno does not have cabin filter. You mean to say get any other suitable filter and insert somewhere inside? Will that work, not sure if there is any suitable space inside, or you are talking about something else?

Old Baleno has a slot for cabin air filter. All you have to do is find a suitable filter which is of the proper size for your car. Maruti has lots of filters in different sizes and I'm sure one of them would fit perfectly.

Locate this filter cover, most likely it will be behind the glove box lid. Measure the filter which is of the same length as this cover and you are done.

Re: Cheaper options: Spare parts for the Baleno sedan

Dear Baleno owners, I need a bit of help from you guys.

The schematic diagram of Baleno's air filter section looks like this:

The bolt number 4 you see, looks like this:

Can you guys confirm which size spanner it takes, size 10 or 12?

Sorry to trouble you guys for such a trivial reason.

Regards,
Shashi

It takes size 10.

I could not pull it out as have to remove the complete filter box, but I could squeeze in the spanner to check the size. And all of those three or four bolts for filter box is size 10 too.

Re: Cheaper options: Spare parts for the Baleno sedan

Looking to buy new head lamps. Google throws some search results and one such is a supplier in Delhi found through Indiamart. When enquired, he quoted 2200/piece and make is "Nuton". In case anyone came across this brand or any other cheaper options, let me know.

MGP costs 9K/piece and another local OEM dealer quoted 4K/piece.

Don't know about the brand, but please ensure that it is designed for the RHD market. If not, the cut off of the low beam will be in the opposite direction and you could blind oncoming traffic even with your low beam. Had faced a similar problem on a Hyundai, with non-oem replacement headlamps. There are a lot of cheap imports from China, which has LHD traffic.

For clear lens headlamps, you can identify the cut off direction from the horizontal grid lines on the reflector. There will be a downward sloping one among those lines. For headlamps designed for RHD use, the slope of line will be towards the left side of the unit, when viewed from front. Hope the picture helps.
