Right I never thought about that. I stand corrected.

That was true to this car when it was stock. I remember having to shift to 4th for that extra passing power.

Will take some videos soon.
This knock sensor this is too confusing. From my little knowledge Baleno never came with knock sensor and I could not find any also searching in the engine bay.
you said it. No point in chasing number.
I thought all modern cars had knock sensors. Can anybody confirm?

Sure. The last time on this very road we thrashed a brand new Optra magnum and clocked 205 on the speedo. Is that enough?
We could get a speed gun too and you can have a 2km top speed pull. Plenty of stretch available.
Enough with bikes, how about a car speed check? LOL

i checked the baleno service manual, there's no mention of a knock sensor.

Infractions: 0/1 (10)

I remember the baleno hitting 200 kmph on our Yelagiri drive in 4th. It maxxed out the speedo in 5th. So, AFAIK you hit the top speed in 5th.

Exactly what I guessed. I still had some rpms in 4th, so its close to what you have mentioned. maxxed out speedo is always a treat to the eyes.

Couple of questions

What brand cam are you using?
What is the estimated Compression Ratio?

Iceman91 saar, 220 psi is compression in cylinder and not compression ratio.

nice mods @crazydiablo... but one thing that is confusing is the in gear top speeds that you have mentioned for the stock Baleno. I have a 2005 Euro III Baleno and in stock condition it could do 105 in second and more than 180 in 4th as shown on the speedo. After I removed the stock exhaust the top speeds did not change but the time to reach there surely changed a bit.

In gear top speed cannot change without change in gearing. The only thing mods do is make you get there quicker as already rightly mentioned by you.
