Can't really comment on that since I have not seen the car personally myself. From the pictures, yes, I would agree with you. But the pics are pathetic too. And a MIVEC is also planned sometime end of next year. So how much it has done does not really bother me too much at the moment.

Mechanical Work

Today the mechanical work was completed. The car is being brought back to sound mechanical condition, as stock. I will be driving the car when i am in India for two weeks in December, and after that all performance modifications will be planned and carried out while I am again out.

The following is what has been carried out so far.

Shopping in China

Yesterday I was at the accessory market here and the stuff are unbelievably cheap (I believe). I picked up some small stuff. I am interested in picking up the alloys here aswell, costs 400-500 RMB per piece.

Picked up 2 logos + anti skid dash mat (28 RMB) and a gear knob (80 RMB).

2002 is about right. The red needles of the instrument panel indicate a 2001 onwards model. The pre 2001 cars had white needles.

The red needles indicated their change to local parts including engine. The white needles meant imported parts from japan assembled in India.

One thing for sure is that the car has done more that 40,000kms. The wear and tear looks far too much.

15" Alloys arrive Kolkata

A friend from Delhi has been kind enough to hand carry my set of Alloys to Kolkata. Attached is the picture directly from their website. I went for a set of 15 inchers. I have not decided on the tires yet. I personally love the tread patter on Goodyear Eagle F1's but this forum tells me Michellin PP2s are better peformers.

The garage ambience doesn't look familiar to any of the garages I know in Park Circus. i stay at Park Circus btw.

Eagle F1s were the best when they were the best similar patern tread is available in Yokohama ES100s and Falkens (donot know the model). Try to get in touch with Minku - he is the best dealer in tyres in Kolkata. his showroom (IndoRadialClub) is located at Bhowanipore (near ganja park) & another one at EMByPass (beside Boat club). I have lost his phone number along with my phone

Michelin PP2s are quite good (shuvd and razor4077 are quite happy with them) - SOUM has Yoko ES100s. 1100D / shuvc is using GY GSD2 F1s in his Ikon / Baleno - they will be able to give you a better feedback about these. Hope this helps.

Hope to see you & your car soon.

So I am told about PP2's, but, I am after that particular tread design so I'll check out ES 100's.

The picture of the wheel you've posted has provision for five nuts and the lancer has only four! I hope you checked that!
