That did strike me when I chose the alloy, but I had used the filter to show me Lancer alloys in size 15, so I hope or atleast believe that the alloy does fit a Lancer. If not, will have to see what to do

Your choice of alloys is very good. The picture showing the 5 hole option should not be a problem, as the same design may be fitting another car which is with a 5 hole configuration.

Cheers

Thanks. Just spoke to my friend who picked up the alloys for me. He says the alloys got 8 holes and the person at the wheel shop confirmed that there would be no problem to fit it on the lancer.

That was a quick relief.

Arrived Kolkata

Hey folks,

Finally the car which I have been talking about in this thread has been driven by me.

First impressions :

I get into the car - clutch is extremely soft. Drive out of the airport and head into Rajarhat. The exhaust has a grumble, a sweet one - certainly does not sound stock. May be when Razor or Planet has a look at the car they can comment on that better.

Brakes - NO breaks ! The mechanic surely messed up with the bleeding or something. The first pump is a false, the second one has some bite.

The overall body work and paint was 'satisfactory' but nothing to write home about. I have to check it properly in the morning to see.

On the nicco park road I managed to touch 160.

Tomorrow I pick up the alloys from my friends house and then lets see what tires to go in for.

ICE and Interiors are next.

I really feel the car has some basic work which needs to be done.

Would appreciate sometime from Razor/ Planet as and when they have time

From Kolkata

Some more pictures.

Hi Folks,

Some pictures from my end.

The pictures are though not up to date though. They are not with the new alloys + tires and number plate.

Alloys have been put. Tires have been purchased from Indo Radial Club on the byepass - I exchanged my old set of alloys and tires and picked up Yokohama ES 100. Total bill was 22,000 - 7000 for the existing set, so payed 15,000.

Number plates were downright ugly, and hence changed.

I have got a quotation for my ICE and I need to know if its a good price or not :

Pioneer 5090
Speakers - JBL 608C & 947
Amp - JBL GT5 A604
Woofer - CS 1205
Wiring
Tray
Rs. 34,000

I will upload pictures with the new alloys tomorrow, hopefully .

I am really not happy with the suspension, it feels too soft and there is absolutely no confidence while cornering. Also not happy with the brakes. Will hope to get it done sometime this week.

Cheers
Indra

Looks nice and refreshed with the new paintjob. Will hopefully see it in person soon. Good going, and we can talk about the brakes and suspension when we meet.
Good progress

Indra, What size tyres are those? They look way too big for the car. I hope they are not the wrong size.

Size is ok. 195/60/15. Just a fraction more than the stock RR. By stock I refer to the 175/80/13 size and not the sfxi size
@Indra: Alloys and Yokos look great! Nice pics.

The ICE quote seems a tad high. Are they with B&W? Do you have prices by item?

Ideal size would have been 195/55-15. If you use the stock size as a reference you will get correct OD but the offset kind of gets messed up. As a compromise for the lancer when you increase the width from 175 to 195 you have to reduce the profile.

It looks pretty good but you get the feeling that it's a bit raised up. Also the front bumper skirt is missing.

Badboyscad thanks . I intend to turn my indicators and tail lights black. The grill in the front will be replaced by a stock one till I get some good people for mesh work.

Well, no, he totalled up a sum of 39k and offered me a best of 34k. The HU itselt he asked for 9999, which put me off right away.
