The chopped boot version like the viva, with the spoiler and alloys looks hot. The WRC body kit is all thats missing to make that car look perfect. The sx4 definitely has good potential.

I think my enthusiasm is being misconstrued ! I have no intention of chopping off the roof at all. The only reason I said adding a roll cage like structure was to ensure no chasis flex. When I say roll cage it means "reinforcement"

It is certainly news to be that sedans & coupes are lighter than "topless versions"

The only reason I am looking at the SX4 is memo_45's TC job & easy availability of parts.

Cheers

Generally coupes are lighter than convertibles (the same model and make) because the strengthening of the lower body, to offset the loss of the rigid roof, adds weight. Plus the folding metal roofs are heavier with their mechanisms.

The red one looks quite inspiring ! I really wish the SX4 had a decent trunk. One would not have had to think of any chopping mods then !! Tough luck

Thanks for the pictures monty9991

P.S.- just asking coz feel you yourself have got too many doubts in the mind for project!!

Mr. Mehul

It is not "necessary" for me to get the SX4 converted to a hatch. It is just that I like the WRC version.

No I have not considered other options as I need to simply satiate my desire to do what I want to do.

As for the doubts in my mind - I do not put money into something UNLESS I am sure of the outcome..

Hope your queries are answered.

Regards

Ricky

@ Ricky: Sure buddy after all its your choice, BTW hope no offense taken..

Also, No change to chassis would be done for reducing the boot.. None were done to mine..

Hey no Ricky, this car is not in India! Wish it were, though. This is the Road Race Motorsports demo car, and memo45_m had the chance to drive it in the US. Fitting, since he owns the first SX4 in India, and the first turbo SX4 in India as well.

Oh ok !! So memo45_m seems like an undisputed fan of the SX4.

Thanks for the information.

@akshay: nice looking car, toobad i'll never be sold by maruti on indian soil.
but then the like of ricky are trying to make a sx4 hatch a reality .

@mehul: the chassis is the shell in this case ! monocoque chassis . think you are refering to a ladder chassis like in a gypsy.
nice ride i have to say

cheers
