Adding a Day / Night rear view mirror to my car

Hi !

I want to install Day-Night Rear View Mirror in my Estilo. I am so used to it and I thought it is available in top-end versions of all new cars. But my Estilo VXi came with a normal one.

Has anybody replaced the normal mirror to day-night mirror?

Is this mirror of unique design or does it share common design with Wagon-R or any other car?

Please advice.

Regards,
MG

I even don't know if Wagon-R's top variant comes with Day-Night mirror or not.

Anybody bought day-night RVM for Estlio/Wagon-R - come forward please.

Regards,
MG.

Insist Maruti to get this done FOC. My brother bought his wagonR VXi in 2002 when i had a Esteem 2000 VX which had the day night mirror but his wagonr did not. He wrote to maruti asking why a newer model did not have this feature. After a little persuasion, he got that done FOC.

In fact if my memory serves me well, when I had test driven the Estilo Vxi, it had a D/N mirror. May be a cost cutting measure?

Damn. Estilo VXi does not come with Day-Night Mirror.

Just now checked Wagon-R's brochure and the VXi model Wagon-R comes with Day-Night Mirror.

Called up M.A.S.S., they say it is not available, I will have to buy from outside. Will call up other M.A.S.S and ask tomorrow.

I will also need to know the compatibility of other cars' day-night mirrors with Estilo.

I got a day night RVM fitted to my indica DLG ( comes as oe with only the DLX). the mirror cost 500, but the TASS charged some 150 bucks for installation - its just a unscrew/screw job.

it was very useful, but after i got dark tints all around, i found myself using it less and less

I'm sure these mirrors are available as they work on a simple principle and also don't really need any complex things to fix it.
I saw quite a few on ebay.com

nope they dont , and i had to remove them to put some foam tape in between (to prevent vibrations ) - it was pretty easy

the TASS guys charged me the amount to install the ORVM , which is fairly complex, and which i realized a bit too late

How dark are your films ? Coz even my glasses are tinted, but the glare in the RVM from headlights is very bright.

I have it my Civic but I cannot use it because there is another RVM of reverse parking sensors kit on the top of it (It is a bit dark though)

I want to use one on Estilo but it is not there. I cannot use it both the cars. I am avoiding film on back glass because of defogger. :(

Got a day/night mirror for 360 bucks, pretty decent quality. The OEM mirror was quoted at 700 at MASS
