Hello,

I have a Maruti Swift done about 5000km. I would like to change the OE spark plugs to Bosch or NGK, Twin Spark-Spark Plugs.

Would like to check 2 things:-
1. Are any modification required to the electricals to support the twin spark-spark plugs?
2. Would it improve the mileage?

Thanks.

No modification is required for Twin spark plug. Regarding milage, it definately improves. ideally double spark-> less unburnt feul -> more milage. but I am sure it will not be big enough in real driving conditions. Btw do you know where can we get Bosch Twin plug in Bangalore? I tried couple of places in J C Road for my matiz but couldn't found. One shop NGK was there but I am not interested in that.

Thanks.

If its a stock car, get a good set of genuine NGK's and you will be fine. Really doesnt make that much of diff (twin leads) and they are a pain to clean and set gap.

There is no such thing as "twin spark" spark plug! Dont get sold with such marketing gimmicks!! The only benifit you might get from twin (or more) electrode spark plugs is that they may last longer than the normal ones. But the cost will negate the benifit. You will not see any increase in fuel efficiency or anything else.

If you still want to use them, you certainly dont need to modify anything.

I would suggest you use normal NGK plugs of the correct spec. for your car.

where do you find genuine NGK's in pune?

Go to NGK and find the dealers in Poona. If they are too far, you can try calling and asking them where you can find genuine NGKs closer to you. Be more careful of fakes if not getting them from the authorised dealer.

Thank you. Does give me some insight on the next step.
