totally agrre with harrie not only in european countries also in australia. remember i was doing this install for a friend in his car and was happily cutting the metal ...broke the blade so drove down to the sound guy...he saw what i was doing and flipped...said that it was illegal and we could lose insurance on the car.
only on show and go cars and people who are not worried abt insurance or do it illegally..else the RACV in australia rejects your car

well montoya you can go for 100/90 bulbs in the optra but do put in good cutouts.fogs go in for the single 100 or 110 watt bulbs.
about cutting the tray..go ahead and do it if you want to no one is stopping you. almost everyone who has a sub in the boot does it...prices vary model to model

Congrats on ur new car, montoya.

Ice, jus curious... wont it void the warranty on the car if one goes for bulbs that are of higher rating than OE?

Hey thanx Ice well i am planing to go in for 100/90 which is the highest watt available which will make the light simply superb since the roads i drive on there is poor lightning.. which company has the best bulbs?? Also there are 4 bulbs in the Optra for light so how do i upgrade them.. unlike other cars which have 2 in them.. so totally in all i have to change 6 bulbs..

Well the most shrewd as far as warranty goes are Skoda and Honda. Had 100/90 in my NHC though no problems but car didnot have fogs..

nah going in for 100/90 does not void the warranty.
also the bulbs in the optra are different need to change all.

if u fear for warranty ,go for the philips blue vision bulbs.they have an output of 50% more than regular 55/60w ,but consume only only 55/60w.
so,your warranty stays safe.

almost everyone of us has been using 100/90 or 130/110w .and so far there has been no problems with the waranty.but be sure to install a good quality relay.

Blue/white light is not effective at all.. in city.. it helps only on highways..

as rudra has pointed out, your car has differnt bulbs for high beam and low beam.so u need to get separate bulbs.
