Convertible issues!!!

Agree with GTO......Chassis for sedans and hatchbacks are specifically designed to handle body flex.......and as steeroid said...if you really want a cut-sedan-to-make-convertible job then you need to go in for a body on chassis car like the contessa which will make a good donor car for a mustang replica.......otherwise simply go down to popular car bazaar and check out the Suzuki Capucchino, Honda Beat, Mazda Miata, Fiat Barchetta and the San Storm all of which fit in a 2-5lac budget.

hey,
This is the first time im posting on team-BHP. I cant seem to access the fotos some pple have posted. Neways my dream is to get a convertible. And I have to agree that seeing sans' on the road in chennai is pretty much rare. I wanted to convert a cielo or a contessa and the opinion hinges on contessa. Can anyone suggest a good mechanic/designer in chennai that can do this for me? And what are the approvals required to ride such a vehicle on road? I guess struc mods are more messy to get approvals than engine changes. Need advise.....quickly....Theres a real decent cielo sitting at my mechanics!!!!

Re: my dream of having a convertible

An alternative for convertible car is an option to fit Webasto convertible roof. It is very safe and totally leakage free. Enjoy the feel of convertible roof.

This model fits well for Hatchbacks and SUVs. Do not go for it incase of Sedan.

They are available in Hyderabad at Webasto store in KPHB, Besides Malaysian township. Ping me for contact details.

Hi Mr. Adil,

Is this just an open top car or convertible. If it is automatic convertible roof could you please send some pics how it looks when closed.

Thank You
