Replacement of Interior light bulb in WagonR.

Hi all,

The interior light(stock one near the rear view mirror) in my WagonR Lxi is very dim and would like to replace with a brighter light bulb. Please suggest me a good white light bulb which would hold good. Also i would like to add a dicky light, any suggestions where i can install it?

Thanks,
Ramki

Hey you get a ready made LED bar which has a connection to fit inside the stock holder of the interior light. Check with an car accessory shop

Why not buy it instead ? Might not be cheaper but will surely save you time.

Don't all MUL vehicles come with a higher wattage bulb? I think it is 8W not where as the older models had 5W bulbs.

Techno, the readymade LED setups would be generic, i suppose. It should cost you in teh range of Rs.300/- or so, of not more. Do ask around some of the car accessory shops in your area.

Needless to say, the DIY part of it makes it a whole new experience of seeing the light.

Thanks Benny, but I am really not the DIY types (except for washing the car & waxing it sometimes).

Btw would the LEDs be much brighter than stock light or only marginally? Anyways the light in front row is fine its the rear row where I find the light inadequate, may be a 2nd light at back?

Techno, for the rear, you can get these LED light setups which run off a battery, and which are activated by a click button. Use double sided tape on them, and they can be stuck at any position in the car - the roof, C pillar, etc. That should cover the lack of light at the rear. I believe Vidyut got himself two of those.

Here in Bangalore, they are available at Home Town stores.

The lighting is woefully inadequate for the Alto in the back. Just like Techno, I don't mind getting an extra set of lights for the back row.

This may be OT, but I recently bought a small LED light with 3 bulbs from Spar, use it as a light inside my glovebox. Lights up the small area brilliantly and looks cool. Once at a traffic jam a guy in a Fabia who was busy looking at my co passenger rummage thru the glovebox for some gum asked if the bright light was standard fitment for an Alto

The Wagon R Vxi has a light in the rear as well.
At least my 2004 Model does.

Why not something like

We posted within seconds of each other. Are we both referring to the same thing?
