^^^ Is that true for only the Turtle Hard Shell Wax or for all/most Turtle products? Amongst the stuff available in India, Turtle is supposed to be amongst the better stuff... sigh!

For most the stuff from the original paste to the ice range and the so called nano range.

Why not try the waxpol stuff that drpullockaran mentioned in this thread. He states he has had it on the car for 6 months and it still beads well. So you do have some better waxes than the rubbish from turtle.

We use 100% pure Carnauba Wax as a raw material... wonder how that will work as car wax?

Yes, the Waxpol "Super Quality Polish". I very much have that in mind. But I guess it won't be easily available... Waxpol's liquid polish on the other hand is easily available. Would have to hunt a bit. But will try it soon for sure.

Got a Sonax Liquid Pol sometime last year - it's served quite well and beads water for upto a month... got it from reliance mart for INR 330...

Do post a review of the kit, also which country was the kit exported from ??

Did you take into account the climatic conditions of the exporting country or the country of usage as per the manufacturer ??

I guess that should make a difference as the conditions here, are quite hostile.

Inspired by the above post, I bought a 200 gm of the Waxpol Wax.

Tried it on my 2 month old i20. Although the car is new, the body had started to loose its sheen in Kolkata rains/mud and spiral scratch marks had become very visible.

The product costed me Rs. 92 for a 200 gm tin (after discount), and I think a 200 gm tin will suffice for 4-5 waxes!





The packaging is not impressive, but the product sure is. At first look, it saw a greenish hard wax and thought, what have I bought!! But then I decided to try it.

I washed the i20s bonnet and fenders with a car shampoo and dried them. Then I moistened a sponge and applied the wax on the car as evenly as possible.

The application took less than 10 minutes for all three panels. I then left it to dry for 30-40 mins.

Later, I started buffing with a soft cotton cloth, and I realized... this was going to be hard work. The wax had dried a bonded to the paint, and the buffing out had to be done using a fairly good amount of pressure/strength.

But what came out after the buffing made all the hard work worth it. The paint was shining as if bathed in oil! All the spiral stratch marks were invisible. And water was sliding off the body without leaving any streaks.

Another good thing is that the product is not abrasive at all. There was no paint/residue on the cloth. Infact, on the edge of the bonnet, there were few hard water marks rom before the waxing. The wax just coated over them, but did not remove them.

I have tried 3M and a couple of other products before, and so far the results from Waxpol are the best. I ll be doing the rest of the car tomorrow.
