How to achieve better engine sound?

Hi All,

I was wondering how to achieve a better ( a bit louder) engine sound. Iam OK with the current performance. Only interested in a good sound of the engine.

My Corsa 1.4 runs in petrol and lpg. Please advice on what kind of modifications will give my engine a better sound.

Will any of the replacement filters give any change in the engine sound?

Thanks

Raj

If you just want a louder exhaust without much gain in performance, remove the end can.

heres a vid of my car with just the end can removed. I had no headers back then.

I would suggest go for a free flow exhaust.

HI ,

Is it useful to modify the corsa that is running on LPG to have a free flow exhaust.

Experts please advice, since while speaking with a mechanic he told that it is not much useful to have a free flow exhaust on lpg car.

thx

Do you want a louder intake sound or exhaust sound? This is a little unclear from your description.

Yes - you will hear more of an intake sound (i quite like it), and it will be cheaper and easier than getting a free-flow.

I have a Diesel Fiesta and want to add Sports intake just to have a good sound and nothing else. I mean i dont want any performance upgrade or anything, just the sound factor. I have seen many Diesel cars running on these sports intake however i was not able to listen to there sound.
Do you guys think i put one of the Sports intake in my car, will it sound the way it sounds in petrol cars?? Also i would really appreciate if someone can advice how much will it cost? Just the intake.

the simplest and the quickest way i think is to get the engine to inhale more air. That ca be done with the help of filters!!

You need to change the filter to conical or universal. IMO, just by changing the stock filter won't achieve any growl from the engine.
