Re: Jopasu Car Duster - A mini review

Thanks, I didn't know that about household cleaners. Although I have always used a car-glass cleaner.

Apart from lapis_lazuli's advice, no, I think it isn't. Car glass is particularly subject to contamination by grease, dead insects, etc, all compacted by speed.

Pick up a dedicated ammonia free auto glass cleaner.

Turtlewax, Sonax, 3M, Rainx, Wavex you have a plethora of options, all costing in the region of Rs 250-400 for 250-400 Ml.

Pick up a Glass cleaning blade / squeegee.

2 dedicated MF clothes for windshields / windows etc.

My daily routine is as follows,

1) Jopasu it in the morning and as mine is a Turbo Diesel, I leave the engine running for about 10 mins while I do this, 2 birds with 1 stone.

2) Spray the glass cleaner, clear it with the window cleaning blade, and touch up the few areas where there are wet spots with the MF cloth.

2a) I do this for all windows and both front + rear windshield + the headlamps and rear brakelights

Set to go.

Sometimes when the car gets super dusty, I whip out the Jopasu during the day also (wherever I get 2-3 mins, outside a supermarket, gym, my office car park etc).

Total time spent / day is not even 10-12 minutes but my car is always clean.

And yes, you can run Jopasu on your windshields, brand new ones might leave a streak mark and really old ones with a pebble or whatever might scratch it, but I only use mine for 6 months anyway.

Since your car is new, some follow up tips.

Pick up a waterless wash solution (many on Amazon, I use Proklear), and clean the car fully on a weekly basis - 20-25 mins including interior cleaning

Pick up an interior vaccum and do this when you do your waterless wash cleaning

Just the above (Jopasu + waterless wash routine) will keep your car gleaming and free of swirls for months to go.

During the rainy season though, get it thoroughly washed every 15 days to get rid of the muck and grime. I luckily live in Chennai so rainy season is only a month.

Re: Jopasu Car Duster - A mini review

Hey fellow Team-BHPians

I have recently got my car ceramic coated. My car was a month old when I got it done. My detailer told me that there were light swirl marks due to use of jopasu duster. Mine is a black car, so unfortunately even light swirlmarks are visible.

People who have been using this on black car for long time, did you also face this? I almost bought Resqtech portable car washer to wash away loose dust from the surface. I am being too finicky?

I have a black sedan for 10 years, so can answer this query.

Swirls are unavoidable, no matter what you do. You can reduce them by using proper daily car cleaning techniques.

I use Jopasu Duster daily for cleaning dust.

Quick Detail my car regularly after every 2 days using CarPro Ech2o diluted in 1:25(Ech2o:Water) ratio.

I wash my car only when it gets too dirty after a long drive, say once a month.

Thanks for your inputs. Guess, this way works best for guys like me who live in high rise apartment.

Have placed an order for Ech20. Just wondering, how much volume is required for cleaning a car like sedan/mid sized SUV like Creta. 20ml of Ech20 and 500ml of water should last for a single waterless wash?

I Own a Creta(White Color) and has been using Ech02 for long now.
I use 20 Ml with 480 ml water(1:24) and this 500 ml solution is enough for the whole car.
As a Quick detailer, 1:12 (Product: Water) is a decent mix with amazing results.
Although I have recently shifted to Proklear Waterless wash but will continue to use Ech02 as a Quick Detailer.

Works for everyone who prefers to not wash car daily and save potable water. Plus no water marks, rust on brakes, etc.

Please refer to below link and it explains all application in detail with exact dilution ratio e.g. Rinsless wash, waterless wash & as clay lubricant as well.

CarPro USA

Works best for people who have no access to water. For lucky ones, shampoo wash is best only when car is very dirty.

Do following and see magic for yourself.

Day 1: Wash car with car shampoo. This will get rid of all dust & muck.
Day 2: Next day, use Jopasu Duster & Quick Detail with Ech2o.
Day 3 & 4: Clean car with Jopasu Duster & it will simply glide more easily.
Day 5: Repeat step Day 2.

I can quick detail my Vento in 50 ML QD Solution.

In detailing less is always more.

Good suggestions. I'm also using a soft and very light car cover

Thanks! Have got good reviews for Proclear as well.

Mine is a ceramic coated car, so thought of using a product specifically designed for ceramic coatings. Ech2o seems to be one of them.

Mine is ceramic coated as well and in my opinion, unless you are using the ratio recommended by Carpro it won't make much of the difference in terms of the protection.
But yes its always recommended using specific products for a specific purpose. Happy Cleaning

Currently, there is an offer running on the Bergmann duster due to which its price is equivalent to Jopasu.
Hi Dadu

How was your experience with Bergmann Gladiator duster? I looked around on Amazon basis your choice here and ordered it. Actually wanted to order Jopasu but this duster was delivered in a days time.

Though it has just arrived and I've not used it, I'm a little concerned because the strands appear to be the usual thin cotton strands without any wax deposits or thick like the ones on Jopasu. Is that the case with yours too? This item was fulfilled by cloud tail, so I hope it's not fake or anything like that.

I'll attach a photo tomorrow but it pretty much looks the same as the image that you've posted in your post.

Cheers

I am pretty happy with it but cannot compare as I have not used Jopasu.

I feel bergmann threads are thicker than others and the wooden handle/frame is on the heavier side. Somehow you cannot use this over glass as it gives wax streaks even after multiple use.

Also instead of recharging it, I am happy that we can just replace the duster. Sometimes its better this way.

Re: Jopasu Car Duster - A mini review

Would it be a good idea to use the jopasu on the cover before taking it off every time?

Re: Jopasu Car Duster - A mini review

Thanks to everyone who posted on this thread, I made the following conclusions after reading all posts from 2018 onward

1. Despite having gone down in quality Jopasu car duster is still a good option at least in the price bracket

2. When new, one should avoid using it on windsceens and windows (and sunroofs?), since it can deposit wax which can hamper visibility especially at night and can also fog-up the windscreen

3. Once you've used it a few times on the metal parts of the car, you can start using it on the glass parts as well

4. Use it only when the car is absolutely dry - it only works with light and dry dust and not with mud that's dried off after being wet

5. Rejuvenating the duster is a cumbersome process, and simply buying a new duster might be more worth than putting in so much effort and saving a few bucks

6. Gladiator might be another competitor - they claim to have permanent wax hence no need for rejuvenation - maybe that will be my next buy.

I ordered a Jopasu from Amazon in the Republic Day Sale for INR 629. It's supposed to arrive on Monday, before which I'm expecting a bit of rain or snowfall where I am at, so I guess I'll only be able to use it once the car is completely dry post the rain/snow fall.

It is a good idea to remove the dust from the surface of the cover, else it will get on the car and even on the inside of the cover. I use a non-waxy brush for this. Don't see why one should not use the Jopasu, but I save mine for the car.

A word on Jopasu usage: use the lightest of touch. I don't even let the weight of the brush fall on the car: just let the tufts waft over the surface.
