Is it possible to fix tachometeres which comes as a standard fitting in Ritz and A-Star to other vehicles like Wagon-R? and what will be the cost + pros & cons?

Mate, I tried this for my Alto and don't think it is possible for the Wagon R. The reason being that the tacho for the A-Star draws its signal source directly from the ECU and not from the ignition coil, which means it can't be fitted into any other car without tampering of the ECU which IMHO is a big no-no.

@ Gpa
but I've seen a lot of cars with their tachos fitted to the ignitions.
By a lot I mean 10-15.
But yes i've heard of 3-5 cases of teething problems with the tacho.
So even if we get it fitted get it from a reliable/known source

Here is a picture of my tacho. Its an autogauge full size 7 background color tacho.
You can set the background color to 7 different color. It also comes with an external pilot shift light.
My mechanic charged me 1500 for the installation.
Though its actually not of much use ,as my corsa has already got a default tacho it gives the car the look!!!

Guys, help required.

I have an Autoguage tacho that was doing duty on my 1.6GTX.

I had the same removed for some time now. Yesterday I tried to fix back the same and the tacho is receiving reverse current.

Also, the elec guy is unable to figure out the wires and connections. Please understand I live in a small town and its impossible to find a specialist for the same.

My two queries,
Why the reverse current?
If I post the picture of my tacho, will anyone of you be able to tell me about the wires and where they need to go,

Thanks.

Since its a fully programmable tacho we can set the rpm limit to some particular rpm say 6800 and when the revs hit 6800 the pilot light will glow and its time to shift.Though not of much use on the road ,really useful on track days .

Will do that today. Thanks in advance.

I realized there was reverse current when I touched the tachometer. My face was almost similar.

Autogauge tach will have only 4 wires.
Connect the tachometer wires as shown in the wiring diagrams below, which are typical installations. Theses are autogauge wiring diagrams.

Wiring with Ignition Coil.
Wiring with ECM

Its not Reverse current.. its just current from the red 12 volt power cable.

Your ground is not connected or the connection point chosen is not a proper ground (unpainted metel of the car body).

Edit:

Other colored wires are for the bar/ pressure, water temp and oil temp gauges.
Get the tacho working first and then sort out the water and oil temp gauge.
the bar/pressure gauge is for turbo or something, i geuss.

One more thing. Last time I connected to the bottle coil the engine was missing on idle and also on running.
